Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes. Plunging Attack Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
20% of Xingqiu's Hydro DMG Bonus will be converted to additional DMG Reduction for the Rain Swords. The maximum amount of additional DMG Reduction that can be gained this way is 24%.
The initial maximum number of Rain Swords is 3.
Using this ability applies the Wet status onto the character.
The twin strikes generate 5 elemental particles when they hit at least 1 target.
The damage reduction of each Rain Sword instance can be broken down as follows: (20% base) + (up to 9% from talent levels) + (up to 24% as a portion of bonus Hydro damage), leading to a max of 53% damage reduced.
The initial skill activation applies Wet to Xingqiu for ~0.3s and wears off by the time the attack animation finishes, so self freezing is not a major concern.
Every few seconds, orbiting Rain Swords will apply Wet to any enemies or objects that are in contact with your active character. (This does not apply Hydro to your active character.) The Hydro application does not deal damage but counts as a hit, so bushes can be cleared with 2 hits from the orbiting Rain Swords as if they were any other attack, and the Unusual Hilichurl will become aggravated upon the application of Hydro from orbiting Rain Swords.
Rain Swords reduce damage but are not considered a Shield.
Xingqiu's 2nd Ascension Passive Talent, Hydropathic, regenerates the active character's HP by 6% of Xingqiu's Max HP whenever a Rain Sword is shattered or when the Rain Swords' duration expires.
With cooldown reduction or cooldown reset effects (such as with Sacrificial Sword), reusing the skill will prolong existing Rain Swords back to 15 seconds. This will not activate Hydropathic's healing effect, since the old Rain Swords did not shatter or expire.
The initial maximum number of Rain Swords is 3. This can be increased by 1 with Xingqiu's first constellation, The Scent Remained.
With Xingqiu's 4th constellation, throughout the duration of Guhua Sword: Raincutter, the DMG dealt by this skill is increased by 50%.
With Xingqiu's 5th constellation, this skill's level is increased by 3
Initiate Rainbow Bladework and fight using an illusory sword rain, while creating the maximum number of Rain Swords.
Your active character's Normal Attacks will trigger consecutive sword rain attacks, dealing Hydro DMG.
Rain Swords will remain at the maximum number throughout the ability's duration.
These effects carry over to other characters.
Rain Sword effects carry over from Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen. Increased resistance to interruption, damage reduction, and application of Wet status still apply.
During this skill's duration, the maximum number of Rain Swords is maintained and the swords cannot be shattered or expire before the duration ends.
Swords created with Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen before or after this skill's activation will not expire during this skill's duration.
Xingqiu's 2nd Ascension Passive Talent, Hydropathic, will not activate when the active character is hit, as it only activates when a Rain Sword is shattered. However, it will activate when all Rain Swords shatter at the end of this skill's duration. It will heal for the full amount of Rain Swords that were present (either 3 or 4, depending on whether Xingqiu's first Constellation, The Scent Remained, is active).
Rainbow Bladework may hit multiple targets if too close.
If the triggering Normal Attack hits multiple targets, the blade will aim at the closest or the first target hit.
Rain Sword attacks have a short cooldown (exactly 1 second or 60 frames affected by hitlag) before it can be triggered again.
Constellation Lv. 6 (Hence, Call Them My Own Verses) greatly increases the damage of every third sword rain attack during this Talent's duration (creates 5 sword rains). Xingqiu regenerates 3 Energy when the third Rain Sword attack hits enemies.
Normally, sword rain alternates between firing 2 swords and 3 swords. After unlocking this constellation, the order is 2 swords → 3 swords → 5 swords. For a damage comparison:
Without any Constellations, this skill at Talent Level 10 has a scaling of 97.7% per sword. If every sword hits, there are 37 instances of Rain Sword DMG, resulting in a total scaling of 3614.9%.
At Constellation Lv. 6, this skill at Talent Level 13 has a scaling of 115% per sword. If every sword hits, there are 60 instances of Rain Sword DMG, resulting in a total scaling of 6900%.
