Xiao Lantern is an item that can be purchased from Granny Shan's Toy Shop. They can be used from the Inventory, which will release a cosmetic lantern that will slowly float away.
Prior to Version 5.3, it was a craftable item and was obtainable only from the 2021 Lantern Rite event. During the event, they were required to complete Lantern Rite Tales requests and were used as entry fee tokens for Theater Mechanicus challenges.

Etymology[]
- The Xiao Lantern (Chinese: 霄灯 Xiāodēng), while using the same name as the English name for Xiao (Chinese: 魈 Xiāo), is actually based on 霄/霄
xiāo, which can mean "sky." - The two words are pronounced identically in Chinese. Based on the emphasis on Xiao for this event, this is probably intended wordplay.
- Xiao Market (Chinese: 霄市 Xiāoshì) also uses 霄/霄
xiāo.
