Xamaran is an open-world NPC located in The Glowing Narrows within The Chasm: Underground Mines.

Location[]

Profile[]

Xamaran is a mushroom creature hailing from Sumeru, and has the ability to communicate through the release of spores in the air. According to Tighnari, it took a long time for Xamaran to achieve its current form. It has a certain affinity to The Chasm, specifically Lumenspar, with Paimon and the Traveler being able to energize it by lending it energy from the Lumenstone Adjuvant.

It is said that Xamaran was a name it took up from an old friend in Sumeru,[1] and "Sheeshroom" is a nickname created by Paimon brought about by her surprise that Xamaran could talk.

During the Traveler's adventures in Natlan, they discover that Xamaran is an offshoot of the Sage-Lord of Fungi, Bifrons.[2] However, Xamaran has long since been disconnected with its progenitor, and speaks of Bifrons with disdain.

Appearance[]

Xamaran is a giant glowing mushroom.

Dialogue[]

Dialogue Set #1[]

Available after completing Dimming Mushroom's Call for Help.

Xamaran: ...Ignorance might be a blessing, and knowledge might bring forth calamity...
Xamaran: ...Only that which graced with the ambrosia of knowledge can flourish into the strong...
Xamaran: ...Only that which has been tested with the desolation of wandering can brave the wilderness...

Dialogue Set #2[]

Available after completing Dimming Mushroom's Call for Help and Field Fungal Traces.

About the Sage-Lord of Fungi...
Xamaran: ...You speak a name shrouded in the mists of the past, Wise One. It was our progenitor, abounding in might, yet more bereft of wisdom than even the Four-Legged.
Xamaran: In your Two-Legged speech, Xamaran would call it "my foolish father."
Paimon: Well, at least that rating's... easy to understand?
Xamaran: We have had no business with one another for many long years. Indeed, I have almost forgotten this name, and cannot tell any further interesting tales concerning it. Your visit, however, sparks such interest.
Xamaran: Well then... How does it fare?
Paimon: Worse than you for sure.
Xamaran: And that is well.
Listen quietly...
