Abilities[]

Melee Combo 1
Performs a two-hit combo consisting of an axe swing and a cleave, dealing 60% ATK, 100% ATK as Physical DMG.
Melee Combo 2
Performs a three hit combo consisting of an axe swing, a hand slam, and a stronger axe swing, dealing 80% ATK, 60% ATK, 100% ATK as Physical DMG. The first or final attacks may be omitted, in which case the combo may be followed by Grab.
Grab
Its hand glows before it quickly lunges forward and grabs at the player, dealing 80% ATK as Physical DMG.
Axe Throw
Throws a spinning axe at the player, dealing 80% ATK as Physical DMG.
Abyssal Frenzy
Temporarily discards its axe and tears its chest open with its axe hand, causing a barrage of homing abyssal projectiles to burst out of it that travel on erratic trajectories and deal 50% ATK as Physical DMG. Repeated hits have their DMG reduced according to the Damage Sequence.
Grief-Stricken State
After its HP is depleted to 0, the Wilderness Hunter will enter a Grief-Stricken state instead of dying immediately. It can also enter an early Grief-Stricken state without its HP being depleted to 0 after a nearby player uses an ability enhanced by Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam. The early Grief-Stricken state duration cannot be refreshed, but it can be entered multiple times in succession.

In both Grief-Stricken states, DMG dealt to the Hunter will decrease its Max HP based on 65% of the DMG taken (or 90% if Moonsign is at Ascendant Gleam, even if no Moonsign players are in the party). Depleted Max HP is indicated by a gray bar that fills from the right. When the Wilderness Hunter's Max HP reaches 0, it will be defeated.

If the Hunter enters the normal Grief-Stricken state (by having its HP depleted to 0):
  • Immediately loses 10% Max HP plus an additional 8% Max HP for each additional time it has entered the normal Grief-Stricken state (i.e., 2nd time: 18% Max HP, 3rd time: 26% Max HP, etc.).
  • The Hunter will perform no actions.
  • After 10 seconds, recovers HP equal to its current Max HP.

If the early Grief-Stricken state is entered:
  • All DMG dealt will simultaneously reduce HP and Max HP. Max HP is reduced at the same rate as during the normal Grief-Stricken state.
  • The Hunter will continue to use its abilities.

Descriptions[]

A ghoul that stalks the frozen wilderness when the pitch-dark mist rolls in. Their emergence presages worse calamities to come.
Many great champions of a lost ancient kingdom lie buried beneath the frozen northlands. Though the remnants of the past have been long wiped clean, these noble spirits yet defend their golden homeland. Awakened by Abyssal taint, these warriors now see all who trespass as prey.
