Furina and Focalors[]
Regarding other Archons comments on Furina and a reason as to why there are no comments on Focalor. It's because to the Archons, Furina IS Focalor.
In the quest Focalor said "I separated my divinity from my body and spirit, leaving behind a self that was as naïve and bewildered as my past self on her first day as a human being." which means Furina is actually the larger portion of who Focalor is, and do note that Focalor specifically used the word "self" and not clone or doppelganger when referring to Furina.
While this fact may be hard to comprehend to many, including most players, the other archons all know Furina is simply an alias for Focalor.
Also and I quote again "But in my eyes, Furina's humanity was what made her perfect. She was perfectly human in every way... the person I always wanted to be." which meant when Focalor died she also achieved her wish of becoming human. Since she is now no longer tied to divinity while still keeping her body and spirit she is now free to live as a human, for real this time.
Focalor/Furina is truly a master of her craft, achieving her dream of becoming a human AND saving all of Fontaine at the same time all in one elegant move.
- "which means Furina is actually the larger portion of who Focalor is" How do you know that Focalors's divinity isn't larger than her body and spirit combined? Either way, this is irrelevant, as Furina has clearly been operating independently of Focalors.
- "do note that Focalor specifically used the word 'self' and not clone or doppelganger when referring to Furina" Focalors also uses lovely language and metaphors throughout her conversation with Neuvillette (which is why her sudden "Anyway, so then I cursed her" is absolutely hilarious). Thus, Focalors's use of "self" is not necessarily an indicator of Furina = Focalors. This is backed by Focalors treating Furina in the rest of the conversation as a completely independent being, such as just two lines later: "She could feel joy, sorrow, and everything in between. She could be as vain and conceited, or as meek and vulnerable as she wished..." This line is one of many in which Focalors speaks of Furina as though Furina is a completely independent being who cannot be directly controlled by Focalors. As vain and conceited or as meek and vulnerable as SHE wished? Not Focalors? Despite Focalors being the one who wanted to be human?
- Furina and Focalors are both absolutely amazing in what they did, and they both deserve all of the praise they can get. And they have a shared origin. But they are not the same beings.
