Summary[]
For a Green Island...[]
The Traveler and Paimon discover an island plagued by dangerous "kuuvahki turbulence." There, they meet Verna, a quirky and somewhat forgetful priestess of the Frostmoon Scions who is wearing a strange, modern-looking suit. She explains that the turbulence is caused by two large, mysterious boulders that fell from the sky.
Verna reveals her "scientific" plan to neutralize the disturbance by finding and throwing three smaller, kuuvahki-charged stone fragments at the boulders to create a counter-frequency. However, her helper robots, the Krakas, have gone missing with the fragments.
The Traveler agrees to help and ventures into a nearby cave to locate the missing robots. After solving a few simple puzzles and surviving a minor cave-in, they recover two of the three required fragments. They throw the fragments at the boulders as instructed, but Verna's calculations prove disastrously wrong. Instead of calming the turbulence, the fragments make the storm far worse.
After a brief panic, Verna deduces that a third fragment is needed to correct the imbalance. Her robot, Kraka III, leads them to a mysterious, unnamed priestess who speaks in cryptic verses and seems far more knowledgeable than Verna. After a brief confrontation and a puzzle involving a Moon Mirror, the mysterious priestess allows them to take the final fragment.
With the third fragment, they finally succeed in stabilizing the boulders. The two massive stones then fly off and embed themselves into a structure at the Court of the First Edict, a sacred site that has been sealed for 500 years.
Verna confesses her true motive: she was secretly conducting this mission to prove the value of technology and her robots to the conservative elders of her order. The quest ends with a new mystery, as the cryptic priestess had also claimed to be heading to the supposedly inaccessible Court, leaving Verna and the Traveler to figure out their next move.
Gift of the Mirage[]
The Traveler and Paimon meet Pekkani, a member of the Frostmoon Scions and a supremely confident angler who boasts he is the best on Hiisi Island. He is frustrated because, despite his supposed skill, he has been unable to catch a single fish. Convinced that the problem is not with his technique but with a mysterious disturbance in the water scaring the fish away, he hires the Traveler to investigate the underwater environment.
Upon diving into the nearby waters, the Traveler discovers the true source of the issue: a large, unusual stone structure. To solve the puzzle, the player must locate and place three scattered stone fragments onto this structure.
Once all three fragments are correctly placed, the entire stone structure activates and dramatically flies away. Pekkani, who only witnesses the final result, is baffled but overjoyed. Believing the Traveler has worked a miracle with the "Moon Maiden's favor," he concludes that the underwater disturbance is gone and he can finally fish in peace. As promised, he compensates the Traveler for their help, and the quest concludes with the happy angler returning to his favorite pastime.
The Mirrors, the Maze, and the Tsar[]
The Traveler and Paimon fall into a deep pit and meet Maite, a dramatic young girl who introduces herself as a "master thief" and heir to the legendary Reed Miller. She is on a mission to steal a precious treasure, "Twardowska's Stone," from the tyrannical "Crab Tsar" who rules the cave system below. She explains that the stone has corrupted the once-docile giant crab, turning it cruel and aggressive towards the smaller crabs. Seeing the plight of the little crabs, the Traveler agrees to help.
The group pursues the giant crab through a series of caves, which form a maze-like lair. The Crab Tsar repeatedly flees, using ancient Frostmoon mirrors as portals to teleport away and blocking the path behind it. To proceed, the Traveler must solve puzzles, often using smaller crabs and special rocks to break through barriers.
Their chase is guided by the cryptic appearances of a mysterious, purple-haired priestess who speaks in riddles and seems to know their purpose. She provides crucial hints that allow them to shatter a large mirror and enter the Tsar's final den.
They corner the Crab Tsar in its lair for a final battle. The fight requires them to use special stones to force the Tsar out from behind its protective mirror barriers. Upon its defeat, the corrupting stone on its back breaks free and flies away to an unknown destination. The now-docile crab, seemingly remorseful for its actions, retreats into a corner.
The mysterious priestess appears one last time, speaks more cryptic verses about fate, and vanishes. With the Crab Tsar no longer a threat, Maite's mission is complete. She thanks the Traveler for their help and gives them an IOU for a meal in Nasha Town as a reward. The quest concludes with the crab restored to its gentle nature, but the true identity of the priestess and the ultimate fate of the mysterious stone remain unresolved mysteries.
The Tale of the Gate Stone[]
The Traveler and Paimon meet Kasha, a young girl from the Frostmoon Scions. Inspired by the dark and adventurous tales told by her friend Mai, Kasha has a unique plan: she wants to find "pretty stones" to bribe Mai into "kidnapping" her and taking her to see the outside world. Her idea is a childish misinterpretation of the legendary thief Reed Miller's romantic escapades from Mai's stories. Amused by her determination, the Traveler and Paimon agree to help her find a suitable stone.
They soon discover a beautiful, unique stone pulsating with energy. When they bring it back to Kasha, she gets a strong "hunch" that the small fragment is connected to a large, mysterious stone in the center of the enclave. Believing it to be a premonition, she asks the Traveler to place the small stone onto the larger one.
Following Kasha's intuition, the Traveler uses their ability to attach the fragment to the large "Gate Stone." This immediately activates the massive rock, causing it to glow with golden light, rise into the air, and fly off to slot perfectly into a giant pillar at the Sanctum of the Oathkeeper.
Although the "pretty stone" is now gone, Kasha is ecstatic. She realizes that the incredible story of the flying stone is a far better and more exciting gift to share with her storyteller friend Mai than any simple rock. She happily thanks the Traveler for their help, rewards them with another stone she had found, and the quest concludes.
Echoes of an Unfinished Past[]
The Traveler and Paimon run into Verna, the quirky priestess from Thunderclap Reef, who is now trying to break the seal on the Court of the First Edict—a sacred site that has been inaccessible for 500 years. Her goal is to lure out and capture the mysterious "imposter" priestess they previously encountered.
Verna's new "scientific" plan involves throwing a specially-made stone fragment at the seal. The attempt goes awry, creating a "Moonlane"—a path of light—that leads them not into the Court, but up to a strange, floating puzzle in the sky.
After solving the puzzle, the seal on the Court of the First Edict is finally broken. They enter the long-hidden sanctum, where they are confronted by a ghostly image. Verna realizes this is not an imposter, but a residual image of the legendary first Moonchanter herself, Lady Aila.
The image plays out a scene from 500 years ago, where Aila is speaking to another person. In a stunning twist, Aila's projection breaks the fourth wall, looking directly at the Traveler and speaking to them across the centuries. She reveals that she orchestrated this entire series of events, guiding the Traveler with the mysterious stones to this very spot. Aila explains that the Traveler is an anomaly whose fate she cannot see, but she gifts them a sacred sword, believing they are the hero destined to defeat an "undying serpent."
After the vision ends, the Traveler retrieves the ancient sword from a spring within the sanctum. As they exit, they are immediately confronted by another priestess, Rahetar. While Rahetar dismisses the Traveler's intrusion, she promptly apprehends Verna for breaking numerous sacred laws and tampering with a sealed sanctum. Verna is dragged away to face the judgment of the current Moonchanter.
The quest ends with Verna's capture, leaving the Traveler and Paimon in possession of Aila's mysterious sword and burdened with a cryptic prophecy about their role in the land's future.
