Act I - Sounds From Afar[]
As the harvest season arrives in Mondstadt, the number of requests made to the Adventurers' Guild has increased. Two days earlier, the Traveler and Paimon had met up with Katheryne to answer her call for aid, and have now returned to turn in the checklist of commissions assigned to them, mostly delivery and escorting of goods.
As they were talking, a pair of Knights of Favonius were overheard hurrying off to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, having been told by the Acting Grand Master to convene for a meeting. With Kaeya passing by, Paimon asks him about why everyone is heading off to the headquarters. Kaeya tells her that a letter from the Grand Master has arrived and Jean had ordered everyone to gather in the main hall. With that, he invites the two to go with him.
In headquarters, Mika reads out the letter sent by Varka. He assures the Knights that the expedition is going well; however, they have encountered the Fatui Harbinger known as The Captain in the past months. Fortunately, The Captain has not been hostile and has even helped them. Varka then states that The Captain was ordered to go to Natlan three days prior to writing the letter. Varka ends the letter by wishing the Knights well during Weinlesefest. However, Mika tells Jean about Varka's message he found for Lisa on the back of the letter. Jean dismisses the meeting, and Lisa tells the Traveler and Paimon to chat with her and Jean in the Grand Master's office.
In the Grand Master's office, Jean discusses the background of the Weinlesefest and this year's plans for the festival. Lisa then reveals Varka's request, which has something to do with Razor's past — giving him the box that his parents left for him. Noting how difficult it may be for Razor to digest the situation, Lisa tells the Traveler and Paimon to find him and break the news to him.
The Traveler and Paimon find Razor hunting in Wolvendom with Draff. They tell the news to Razor who feels conflicted about knowing about his parents. Nevertheless, they assure him that whatever happens, they'll be with Razor to support him. With that, Razor decides to visit his teacher Lisa.
Back in the Grand Master's office, Lisa opens the wooden box for Razor. In the box contains a woolen hand puppet, a part from a Ruin Guard, and — notably — a bottle of Thousand-Wind Wine. Lisa notes how Thousand-Wind Wine is the first and rarest type of wine that Mondstadters learned to make. With how varying the techniques involved to make it and the flavors it produces, this meant that the bottle of wine was brewed by Razor's parents. Wanting to know more about the bottle of wine, they wait for the Weinlesefest for two days. Once the festival has started, they consult Venti about the process of making Thousand-Wind Wine, but he is only able to provide a song that has no bearing to the wine-making process. Nevertheless, he advises the group to try and make the wine for themselves to find the answers they are looking for.
Act II - Bonds of Melody[]
The Traveler and Paimon promise to meet up with Razor at the Weinlesefest festival market in Springvale after two days. They arrive earlier, and while waiting, The Traveler and Paimon discuss Venti's song, trying to figure out the necessary ingredients to make a Thousand-Wind Wine for Razor. Eventually they deduce that the song doesn't really hint towards specific ingredients; instead, it hints that the wine should bear the characteristics of the three institutions that happen to currently organize the Weinlesefest: "an explorer's courage" for the Adventurers' Guild, "a love tender and true" for the Church of Favonius, and "a defender's will" for the Knights of Favonius.
Razor soon arrives following Klee, who is being let out of her confinement room for the festival. She heard about Razor's predicament and wants to help him find his "mommy." Not long after, Bennett then catches up to the group and hands Razor a Small Lamp Grass. Bennett saw Lisa talking to Cyrus about Razor's situation and then came up with multiple ingredient suggestions before he eventually tripped on a Small Lamp Grass on his way to find Razor. The plant came out unscathed during his accident, and as it shines a light to guide the way for explorers in the dark, Bennett thinks the Small Lamp Grass is the best ingredient for Razor's Thousand-Wind Wine. Bennett then leaves with Klee to escort her sightseeing around Weinlesefest.
Paimon then tells Razor their deduction about Venti's song, suggesting they go visit the Church of Favonius to find someone to talk to. As they're about to leave for Mondstadt, a merchant, Marcel, stops them and asks for their help in locating his delayed fruit cart.
On the way, the group discovers a courier and his cart surrounded by hilichurls. After fending them off and making sure the fruit cart can resume its journey safely, Razor senses Rosaria's presence and becomes wary of her, thinking that she's an enemy. Rosaria scoffs as she thinks she and Razor should be more amicable as they're brother and sister, by virtue of both of them having Varka as their fatherly figure.
Rosaria confronts Razor with some potential darker truth about his parents and the way he's thinking too hard about the whole situation, leaving him speechless. The Traveler defends him, but Rosaria is only pointing it out because she knows that the people of Mondstadt they're acquainted with are too "sunny and bright" to offer him such darker — if not realistic, perspective. She then presents him a Mist Flower Corolla as the ingredient that will represent the Church of Favonius, since Barbara is too busy with other event preparations and thus won't be able to meet them. Paimon notes that Rosaria is more thoughtful than she seems, and Rosaria says that she does this to return Varka's favor and possibly to start acting more like an older sister to Razor, before leaving the group without any other words, much to their confusion. As they have acquired the Church of Favonius' representative ingredient, the group then heads towards the headquarters of the Knights of Favonius.
Arriving in the Grand Master's office, the group finds Lisa and Kaeya discussing some issues pertaining Weinlesefest and how they need a barrel for Razor's wine-brewing needs too, much to Paimon's confusion. Lisa explains that she has tasked someone to work on the ingredient that will represent the Knights of Favonius, but they are still missing the container to brew the wine itself. Hence, she's persuading Kaeya to visit the Dawn Winery to procure a wine barrel. The Traveler and Paimon then decide to accompany Kaeya to the Dawn Winery while Razor stays with Lisa to discuss about his worries.
Arriving in Dawn Winery, Kaeya and Diluc shared some tense bantering as Kaeya persuades Diluc to lend his assistance to the festival. Diluc eventually yields, before turning his attention to the Traveler and Paimon, who explain Razor's situation to him. Diluc agrees to help them as the winery do have some spare barrels, and he'll send one to the Angel's Share stall in the festival market for them to pick up. As it is late, Diluc invites Kaeya, the Traveler, and Paimon for dinner. Kaeya initially turns the offer down before Adelinde persuades him to stay and Kaeya couldn't refuse her. The group then have a dinner together before parting ways.
Act III - Aroma of the Past[]
Two days after the events of Bonds of Melody, the Traveler and Paimon decide to go check the Knights of Favonius regarding the ingredient for Razor's Thousand-Wind Wine that will represent the institution.
As they enter the Knights of Favonius headquarters, they see Noelle chasing after Sucrose, the Traveler and Paimon's appearance stopping her. Noelle and Sucrose then explain the ingredient they're going to present, called Quadruple-Sweetness Sunsettia, a special Sunsettia that has been processed by Sucrose's Bio-Alchemy after Noelle's tenacious research of sweet-flavored ingredients that exist around Mondstadt. Razor comes out from the headquarters' library, and Sucrose promptly disappears, leaving Noelle to present the fruit alone, although the group tells Razor about Sucrose's involvement which he appreciates.
As all the ingredients have been collected, the Traveler, Paimon, and Razor head towards Angel's Share stand in Springvale festival market to procure the barrel given by Diluc.
Arriving there, the group is instead greeted by flustered Klee and furious Diona, who heard Klee's incomplete story and assumed that Razor is interested in becoming a wine drinker, much to everyone's confusion. The traveler and Paimon set the story straight for Diona, making her agree to help mix Razor's wine brew with her mixologist magic. After completing the brew, Diona leaves to keep an eye on her father. The Traveler, Paimon, Razor, and Klee then discuss where they should head next. Based on Venti's song, they deduce that the wine should be placed somewhere exposed to the wind and head towards Windrise.
Under the Symbol of Mondstadt's Hero, the group finds Venti waiting for them. He offers Razor the final ingredient to complete his Thousand-Wind Wine, namely some Dandelion Seeds that should be added to the mix at the last second to capture the wind in order to preserve its memory in the wine. He also explains that Thousand-Wind Wine is the original Dandelion Wine and the reason why it tastes different from brew to brew is because people always have the freedom to add whatever ingredients they want when brewing it.
Hearing Venti's explanation, Razor muses that he still doesn't understand who his parents really were, but he knows his wine contains friendship and is grateful to everyone who has helped him brew his own Thousand-Wind Wine. He is happy and vows to open the wine together with everyone once he grows up. The group then bury the wine barrel under the giant tree together.
The next day during Windcoming Day, everyone gathers in the festival market to attend the toasting ceremony. Bennett and Klee brought some wines loaned by Bennett's dads and Albedo as offering to the Anemo Archon so he may help Razor's cause. Venti soon takes the stage to perform the piece "Thousand-Wind Wine."
After the song is over and everyone opens their wine and toast, Klee is sad that she doesn't feel any wind, thinking that the Anemo Archon is unhappy with their offering and thus chose not to come. Paimon cheers her up, saying that the Anemo Archon can come in different forms. Klee then asks Razor if he feels the Anemo Archon's blessing and he says yes as he feels he has grown from the experience and is no longer afraid.

The group then explores the festival's venue when the wind starts blowing, much to Klee, Bennett, and Razor's delight. They ran off as the Traveler and Paimon looks at Venti, who winks and shushes them and summons his powers. Multiple Mondstadt characters are shown to share some times with their families or reminisce about familial figures who are important to them.
Razor takes a sniff out of his parents' Thousand-Wind Wine bottle once again and suddenly has vision of his parents, a pair of adventurers sitting together on a cliff, drinking from the same bottle of Thousand-Wind Wine which they deemed incomplete, and decided to save it for their son. His mother proposes the name Razor, which his father likes and approves because it sounds like an adventurer's name. Razor reaches his hands out to them, but Klee's voice draws him out from his vision. He looks at his bottle, smiles, and joins the rest of the group.
