Natlantea was the civilization that preceded Natlan. It was ruled by the Pyro Dragon Sovereign Xiuhcoatl and the Thirteen Sovereign Lords. Its greatest city was Tollan, located in the Great Volcano of Tollan. This era was marked by the brutal rule of the dragons over humans, who lived in primitive tribes, and came to an end when Xbalanque raised an army and eventually defeated Xiuhcoatl and the Dragonlords, becoming the first Pyro Archon.
