Moonlanes are an exploration mechanic exclusive to Nod-Krai. They allow the player to transform into a kuuhenki using kuuvahki to travel along them.

Overview[]

When the player is near a moonlane, they can tap the special interaction button to ride it. Similar to spiritways, some moonlanes only flow in one direction, while others can flow in both. For the latter, the direction of travel depends on the direction of approach. A moonlane can be exited at any point by holding the jump button, and can be re-entered immediately by tapping the special interaction button.

If the player boards a moonlane while in a kuuvahki-empowered state or while being followed by a (red or blue) kuuhenki, they will transform into a kuuhenki of the corresponding color. In this form, they will maintain the empowered state while riding the moonlane, and can interact with polar objects as usual. Otherwise, the player will take the form of a white kuuhenki, which carries no polarity.

Some moonlanes will only appear when the player is nearby, and others will only spawn after the player interacts with or follows a white kuuhenki for a while.

Tutorial[]

Moonlanes
A common sight in kuuvahki-suffused Nod-Krai, said to be the traces of passing kuuhenki.
Riding the Moonlanes allows you to harness the power of kuuvahki to swiftly move along their path. However, the Moonlanes do not all flow uninterrupted, and there are times when switching paths is the wisest choice.

While riding the Moonlanes as red or blue kuuhenki, you can freely use kuuvahki to interact with objects near your path.

  • Aino is able to create temporary moonlanes, presumably using some form of kuuvahki-based engineering.[1]
