Large Dendro Slimes are Elemental Lifeforms made from concentrated Dendro energy. A larger version of the Dendro Slime. Can be easily identified by the large red flower growing out of its head, which will remain above ground when it hides.
The following table describes the level scaling. Note that values may change in Co-Op, some Quests, and certain Domains (such as the Spiral Abyss). The change usually involves multiplying some of the values by a constant scale factor.
Behavior and Attacks
Similarly to the small Dendro Slime, the large variant will hide underground. Fortunately, this one is much easier to spot due to the huge flower sticking above ground.
It will only hide for short time after spotting the player - until they turn their back and walk away. After that it will attack with the jump attack - jumping high into the air and crushing on the target, dealing normal damage. Like their smaller brethren, they will take a peek for a second when the player isn't looking, but will hide if they do; only they will not panic, instead, they will hide immediately.
Alternatively, if the player attacks it with Pyro attack, it will start to burn, taking significant Pyro damage over time. While burning it will stay still and shake to put out the fire and will not attack. It can be ignited multiple times. At some point, the flower on the slime will be destroyed and so the Dendro slime will resort to pounce and hit attacks like normal slimes.
After being exposed either way, it will not try to hide and will proceed to execute the following attacks:
- If the player is in melee range, it will use an AoE poison field around itself which will deal Dendro damage over time, but will not affect the player with Dendro (this is possibly a bug).
- If the player is outside the melee range, it will attack with a ranged attack, shooting seeds at the player which will pop into lingering toxic clouds, dealing Dendro damage over time and inflicting the target with Dendro. If the inflicted target comes in contact with Pyro shortly after exposure, it will cause an explosion. This is probably because if the player, having seeds all over them, gets hit with a Pyro attack, all the seeds will be set on fire immediately, causing a small explosion since seeds (and logs) contain trapped gases, (The carbon dioxide and oxygen and nutrients packed into the seed), will be released upon burning, causing a small explosion.
- It will periodically throw seeds which will grow into Dendro slimes. These summoned slimes do not yield any drops and will disappear after the parent slime is killed. 3 slimes can be spawned with one such attack, but it is able to use it repeatedly for a total of 6 summoned Dendro slimes.
Pyro is recommended. Unlike the normal Dendro slime, it can be ignited again after it stops burning, so just keep attacking it with Pyro attacks. This way it will not be able to counterattack while taking lots of damage from burning alone. After inflicting burn enough times, the flower above their head will eventually burn away, severely limiting its offensive capabilities, and it will only resort to attacking normally. Pyro characters with AoE abilities like Xiangling's Pyronado or Diluc's Dawn can target many dendro slimes at once, especially if the Large Dendro Slime spawns smaller slimes.
