Abilities[]

Shockwave

Raises then slams both of its wings, dealing 55% ATK as Pyro DMG around itself.

Wing Swipe

Attacks with one of its wings, dealing 40% ATK as Pyro DMG around itself, immediately followed by Shockwave.

Charge

Charges at the player, dealing 60% ATK as Pyro DMG on hit, then follows with two quick wing slashes, each dealing 45% ATK as Pyro DMG. If the first wing slash hits the player, the DMG of the second wing slash is halved according to the Damage Sequence.

Sweep and Charge

Sweeps the ground around itself with one wing, then drills forward at the player, dealing 50% ATK, 55% ATK as Pyro DMG. Repeated hits dealt by the charge have their DMG reduced according to the Damage Sequence.

Golden Flame Transformation

Enters the Golden Flame form, gaining a Pyro shield and immunity to all DMG. The transformation expires after 45 seconds, but destroying the shield will cause Holawaqa Ngoubou to exit this form early.

When entering this form, Holawaqa Ngoubou is initially in the high-altitude state and cannot be hit by melee attacks.
While in this form, it will alternate between the following two attacks:
- Flamewind Feather: Fires 2 barrages of feathers at the player, each dealing 40% ATK as Pyro DMG, followed by a larger projectile which deals 70% ATK as Pyro DMG and turns into a Flamewind Feather. The Flamewind Feather is a Pyro object and can be destroyed using Elemental Reactions.
- Dive: Dives down towards the summoned Flamewind Feather.
  - If the Flamewind Feather has been destroyed, deals 65% ATK as Pyro DMG and enters the low-altitude state, becoming vulnerable to melee attacks.
  - If the Flamewind Feather is still intact, deals 100% ATK as Pyro DMG over a larger AoE, and returns to the high-altitude state.

Tutorial[]

Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant

A Qucusaurus whose extraordinary form is a result of being unable to withstand the great power it has been granted. It will fly into the air during combat and enter the "Golden Flame" energy-gathering form, creating a shield around itself and launching a Flamewind Feather towards the ground that summons a flamewind. If you cannot destroy the Flamewind Feather before the Qucusaurus dives down into it, the creature will use a Phlogiston Current to return to the skies. This will persist until it is exhausted and returns to its original form. It seems, then, that destroying the Flamewind Feather using Elements that react with Pyro may be the key to victory...

In the mist-shrouded valley of firewood, dwells a tyrant cursed by ancient bloodlines. Who can withstand its golden flames, and who will soothe its fiery wrath?

Descriptions[]

A mutated Qucusaurus that has taken on special powers of great magnitude. It stands tall in battle with its majestic panoply of golden flames.

Adventurer Handbook

A Qucusaurus whose body has attained a supernatural form due to enduring forces that the bodies of modern Saurians cannot control.
Legends say that when the giant Qucusaur who now often dwells in the mountain fog was young, he also once followed the heroes who saved Natlan in their adventures. It is said that one of those heroes once agreed to make the pilgrimage with him together to the volcano, to save his mind back from the brink of insanity that the increasing violent power in his blood was forcing him towards. However, judging from his current title of "Tyrant," that story did not have a happy ending.

Similarly to the Jadeplume Terrorshroom, Holawaqa Ngoubou has higher Aggravation than other Normal Bosses, appearing while approaching its arena from afar.
