HOYO-MiX is a music studio by miHoYo. Lead by Cai "Zoe" Jinhan, our team composes and produces original music, including "Rubia," "Starfall," and others.

HOYO-MiX is the in-house music studio of HoYoverse, responsible for the production of the company's original game music. They have produced music for all of HoYoverse's games, including Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Tears of Themis, and Honkai: Star Rail.

Yu-Peng "Zhiyi" Chen[]

HOYO-MiX Yu-Peng Chen

Chen in "Songs of Travelers" — Behind the Scenes of the Music of Liyue

Yu-Peng Chen (陈宇鹏 Chén Yǔpéng; born January 15, 1984), known as Zhiyi Chen (陈致逸 Chén Zhìyì), is the leading music producer of Genshin Impact. He was the sole composer of the soundtrack for the game's world areas until the release of the second Inazuma soundtrack album, Islands of the Lost and Forgotten (2022), where multiple composers joined to co-produce the soundtrack.

For his work, he got awarded "Outstanding Artist — Newcomer/Breakthrough" by VGMO (Video Game Music Online) at the Annual Game Music Awards 2020.[1]

On September 12, 2023, Chen announced on Weibo and Bilibili that he had left the HOYO-MiX team to pursue his personal creative plans.[2]

Qian Ding[]

Ding in "Travelers' Reverie" — Behind the Scenes of the Music of Sumeru

A member of the HOYO-MiX team since April 2021,[3] Qian Ding (丁谦 Dīng Qiān) debuted in The Stellar Moments as the composer of the track "Good Hunting on a New Horizon," the theme of Aloy's Character Demo. Ding next appeared in Islands of the Lost and Forgotten, wherein he composed only two tracks, "The Long Dark Night" and "Soft Moans of the Remains." In Millelith's Watch, the soundtrack album for The Chasm, he was credited for composing the music for the Nameless Ruins and Stony Halls areas. After working on only a few tracks in each of the previously mentioned albums, The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 2 saw more works from him as he composed or arranged several soundtracks for animated cutscenes.

Prior to Genshin Impact, Ding was previously involved with HOUKAI Sound LAB, a music team formed for miHoYo's game title Houkai Gakuen 2. Ding was a violinist for the track "光之救世主."[4]

Jiade He[]

Jiade He (何迦德 Hé Jiādé) joined the HOYO-MiX team in March 2019[5] and was first credited as an orchestrator in The Shimmering Voyage on tracks such as "Rage Beneath the Mountains," and "Invitation of Windblume." A year after the album's release, she collaborated on The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 2 as an arranger for titles such as, "The Comrades' Ambush," "Bitter Triumph," and "Eureka Moment."

Outside of HOYO-MiX, Jiade He collaborated with music producer Yu-Peng Chen as a producer for songs such as "梦留别" for MMORPG Moonlight Blade in 2018.[6] Both Chen and He worked with Dimeng Yuan on Moonlight Blade's "Saying Sword,"[7] and Chen's original album Being Towards Death.[8] in 2019.

Yijun Jiang[]

A member of the HOYO-MiX team since July 2021,[9] Yijun Jiang (姜以君 Jiāng Yǐjūn) debuted in the Honkai Impact 3rd album Paradox. They composed, arranged, and mixed "Sweet Trap" and "Devouring Snake." Their first work for Genshin Impact was in Islands of the Lost and Forgotten, in which they composed several tracks for the Enkanomiya region. Next, they composed more soundtracks for the album Millelith's Watch.

Simai Wang[]

Simai Wang (王斯迈 Wáng Sīmài) debuted in The Shimmering Voyage as the orchestrator of the soundtrack "Fateful Departing." Next, in The Stellar Moments Vol. 2, they arranged the tracks "Shadow of Nemesis" and "Broker Betwixt Life and Death." Wang also performed the electric guitar for the first previously mentioned soundtrack.

A member of the HOYO-MiX team since January 2020,[10] Dimeng Yuan (苑迪萌 Yuàn Díméng; born 1991-1992)[11] debuted in the album The Stellar Moments. He co-composed most and arranged all soundtracks in the album. In addition, he performed the electric guitar for the tracks. His first solo composer work came in The Stellar Moments Vol. 2, his highlighted works being "Blossoms of Summer Night" and "Shirasagi Princess." In The Shimmering Voyage, he orchestrated and performed the electric guitar for several tracks. After arranging the song "Devastation and Redemption," Yuan composed a few soundtracks for Islands of the Lost and Forgotten. In the album Millelith's Watch, he composed the music for the Glowing Narrow area of The Chasm and co-composed a few tracks with Yijun Jiang. Outside of the Genshin Impact soundtrack, Yuan had been a co-arranger for the Honkai Impact 3rd single "Da Capo" (2023).[12]

Under the nickname Xiaoming (小明 Xiǎo Míng), he appeared as a guest in the first three issues of the official HOYO-MiX Q&A Column of Echoes. Yuan cited Final Fantasy VI as his introduction to music. Among the classical composers who influenced him were Frédéric Chopin and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

In March 2023, Yuan joined the second International Digital Music Festival hosted by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and miHoYo, as he was invited to be one of the keynote speakers to give professional lectures at Shangyin Opera House. His lecture is titled "'Genshin Impact' Game Music Creation Experience Sharing: Meeting Challenges From a Team Perspective" (《原神》游戏音乐创作心得分享:以团队视角迎接挑战).[13]

This lecture will share how the HOYO-MiX team integrates and innovates diverse music elements in the process of constantly enriching game scenes and characters, as well as the thinking and precipitation after practice in the market.

Xin Zhao[]

Xin Zhao (赵鑫 Zhào Xīn) first appeared in the EP album Fleeting Colors in Flight, credited for performing the electric guitar and acoustic guitars for the track "Myriad of Lights." Next, in The Stellar Moments Vol. 2, they composed "Devotion of the Keeper," co-composed "Tactician's Grit" with Yu-Peng Chen, and arranged "Muji-Muji Chaos!" Zhao composed and orchestrated several tracks in Islands of the Lost and Forgotten. For Millelith's Watch, they composed the music for the Underground Waterway area of The Chasm.
