Trivia[]
- The term Marishi (Chinese: 摩利支) is derived from Marici, a Buddhist deity associated with light and the Sun who rides on a fiery chariot.
- In Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, the name of the achievement also includes the phrase 野马泉/野馬泉 yěmǎ quán, "wild horse spring/fountain", a mythical desert oasis recorded in the travelogues of the Buddhist monk Xuanzang, who is famed for embarking on a seventeen-year journey to India. On its own, the term 野马/野馬 describes desert mirages, which are said to "flow and ripple like a wild horse's mane."
