Dendro is one of the seven Elements.

Its associated Archon is Buer, whose domain is Sumeru.

Elemental Resonance[]

Having two Dendro characters in a party of four results in the Elemental Resonance:

  • Sprawling Greenery: Elemental Mastery increased by 50. After triggering Burning, Quicken, or Bloom reactions, all nearby party members gain 30 Elemental Mastery for 6s. After triggering Aggravate, Spread, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions, all nearby party members gain 20 Elemental Mastery for 6s. The durations of the aforementioned effects will be counted independently.

Elemental Reactions[]

Dendro has the following Elemental Reactions:

  • Electro Quicken: Applies a Quicken aura.
    • Electro Aggravate: Triggered when applying Electro to an entity with the Quicken aura. Adds Additive Base DMG Bonus to the attack that triggers this reaction.
    • Dendro Spread: Triggered when applying Dendro to an entity with the Quicken aura. Adds Additive Base DMG Bonus to the attack that triggers this reaction.
  • Hydro Bloom: Creates a Dendro Core that explodes after 6 seconds, dealing AoE Dendro DMG.
    • Electro Hyperbloom: Triggered when applying Electro to a Dendro Core. Transforms the Dendro Core into a homing Sprawling Shot that deals increased AoE Dendro DMG in a much smaller AoE.
    • Pyro Burgeon: Triggered when applying Pyro to a Dendro Core. Detonates the Dendro Core immediately, dealing increased AoE Dendro DMG.
  • Pyro Burning: Deals AoE Pyro DoT and applies Pyro.

Dendro Status[]

Being affected by Dendro has no inherent effects on its own. However, being affected by Dendro will allow Dendro Elemental Reactions to occur.

Any source of Dendro DMG will apply the Dendro status.

Dendro Status to Self[]

The following Talents apply Dendro to its user and/or the active character. There are 1 Talents that match the category selection:

TalentDescriptionType
Meow-teor Kick Meow-teor Kick
Kirara Kirara
(PressPress/TapTap)
Leaps into the air with all the agility of a cat passing through the bushes, and thwacks her foes with a flying kick that deals AoE Dendro DMG while creating a Shield of Safe Transport. This will also briefly apply Dendro to Kirara.
The shield will absorb Dendro DMG with 250% effectiveness. The shield's DMG absorption will be based on Kirara's Max HP and will not exceed a certain percentage of that Max HP. The remaining DMG absorption on a Shield of Safe Transport will stack on a new one when it is created, and its duration will reset.

Hold
Out of her desire to "deliver within half a day," Kirara deploys a Shield of Safe Transport identical to the one that can be created by (pressingpressing/tappingtapping) the skill. She will also curl up into a special express delivery box, entering the Urgent Neko Parcel state in order to move and fight more swiftly.

Urgent Neko Parcel
  • Deals Dendro DMG to opponents she crashes into. This effect can be triggered once on each opponent every 0.5s.
  • When in this state, Kirara's movement speed, climbing speed, and jumping power are all increased, and her Stamina Consumption from climbing is increased.
  • When the duration ends or the skill is used again, a Flipclaw Strike more powerful than the attack in the (PressPress/TapTap) Mode will be unleashed, dealing AoE Dendro DMG.
  • The Urgent Neko Parcel state lasts a maximum of 10s. When the state ends, the skill will enter CD. The longer Kirara spends in this state, the longer the CD will be.
  • Sprinting or actively canceling climbing will end this state early.

Wood Element[]

Wood is one of Dendro's sibling elements. The Wood element is similar to Dendro, but can only react with Pyro to trigger Burning. Quicken and Bloom cannot be triggered using the Wood element.

Trivia[]

  • In Genshin Impact's story, Dendro is likely the fourth element that the Traveler resonates with, and their resonance with or manipulation of Dendro is remarked upon by multiple characters during Chapter III of the Archon Quests. Their resonance with Dendro is also important to the story of Chapter III.
    • The Event World Quest A Librarian's Long and Carefree Vacation in Second Blooming, which only requires Archon Quest Prologue: Act III - Song of the Dragon and Freedom and has no Quick Start requirements, concretely allows the possibility of the Traveler's traveling to Sumeru ahead of Chapter III. However, this possibility conflicts with the Archon Quest Wishes in Chapter II: Act III - Omnipresence Over Mortals, as Lisa names "Lesser Lord Kusanali," a name Paimon does not recognize in Wishes, as the God of Wisdom in A Librarian's Long and Carefree Vacation. Unless Wishes receives an update to account for A Librarian's Long and Carefree Vacation, it is unlikely that the Traveler travels to Sumeru ahead of Chapter III, thus making it unlikely that they resonate with Dendro prior to resonating with Geo or Electro.
    • In Genshin Impact's gameplay, players may or may not be forced to resonate with any Statues of The Seven in Sumeru. Players who avoid unlocking any Statues of The Seven in Dharma Forest are forced to resonate their Traveler characters during Further Observation in Act I of Chapter III. However, players who unlock any Statues of The Seven in Dharma Forest before the relevant steps in Further Observation are not forced to resonate their Traveler characters with Dendro, even if they have not yet done so. It is therefore possible to play the entire game thus far without ever resonating the Traveler character with Dendro, although it is impossible to play the entire game without unlocking at least one Statue of The Seven in Sumeru.
  • The fact that Dendro is activated / empowered by Electro may derive from an ancient Japanese belief that rice plants would mate or be fertilized by lightning.

Etymology[]

  • The name Dendro comes from the prefix used in biology for scientific names related to trees or plants, "dendro-," which derives from the Ancient Greek word for tree (Ancient Greek: δένδρον déndron).
