Date (Japanese: 伊達 Date), also known as Daedalus, is an open-world NPC from Enkanomiya, Inazuma.

Date was an architect with a passion for designing labyrinth puzzles. He considered himself the second-best architect in the history of Enkanomiya (right after Aberaku).[1] His works include the "Neopathos" and "Heterodoxa"-style labyrinths that the Traveler completes in Date's Challenge.

Location[]

Profile[]

Date was the son of a man named Eurydates, and was from a wealthy and distinguished clan of Byakuyakoku.[2]

At some point, he borrowed Hydrological Studies in Byakuyakoku from Ema (the librarian) to study "the principles of load-bearing, the maximization of underground spaces, the avoidance of water leakage, and even some principles of geomancy."[1] Unfortunately, he placed it within one of his labyrinths, to Ema's great annoyance. After completing Date's Challenge, the Traveler returns this book to Ema as part of the Quest Collection of Dragons and Snakes.

Dialogue[]

(Talk to Date again after completing Date's Challenge)
Date: Honestly, these labyrinths are just a means, not the end. What I really wish to do is serve the people, like Aberaku did.

Trivia[]

  • In Date's Challenge, Date complains that his father was "obsessed with rhyme and rhetoric" and always nitpicked his work, while he himself was more of a romantic and an artist.
