The Cryo Regisvine is a Normal Boss in Genshin Impact and one of the Regisvines.

It can be found north of Falcon Coast, Mondstadt. It has a glowing core located at its roots or corolla, and destroying the core will stun the regisivine and significantly lower its resistances.

When defeated, the player must consume 40 Original Resin to claim its drops, which consists of Artifacts and Character Ascension Material for Characters using the Cryo element.

Description

A monster formed from a vine that was imbued with the essence of biting frost within the Ley Lines.
Some studies hold that plants are like organs of the world, harmonizing the turbulent elemental energies of the Ley Lines. Concrete examples of this phenomena are Mist Flowers, Whopperflowers and the like, which brim over with elemental energy.
In certain circumstances, certain plants will turn into creatures of monstrous size and intent — such as the Cryo Regisvines — over the course of many years.

Abilities and Attacks

Roots Phase

The Cryo Regisvine enters this phase when the boss fight begins, or when it wakes up from its paralyzed state after its corolla weak point is destroyed. Its weakpoint will be located at its roots. Breaking its weak point using elemental reactions will paralyze the Cryo Regisvine. If the Regisvine has already entered Corolla before returning to Roots Phase, the Flail and Half Flail attacks may also be used in Phase 1.

  • Ice Beams: Flings two ice beams into an overlapping cross pattern, dealing Cryo DMG. Dodge this attack by dashing to the side.
    • Indicated by its two lashes starting to glow brightly.
  • Homing Icicles: Fires 2, 4, or 6 barrages of icicles that home toward the player, dealing minor Cryo DMG on hit. These icicles will follow the character for a few seconds before losing their homing attribute.
    • Indicated when the Regisvine raises its lashes less high and a glowing effect traveling through its lashes.
  • Faceplant: Charges and slams itself into the ground, causing three trails of ice to spike from the ground, dealing Cryo DMG.
    • Indicated by raising its body upwards and a glow travelling up its stem.
  • Spin: A circle appears around the regisvine indicating the radius of the attack. It will then flatten and stretch out its petals and spin, dealing Cryo DMG within the previously marked radius, knocking any characters back and infusing the ground in the radius with Cryo. The infused ground will deal Cryo DoT to characters who step on it until it dissipates.
  • Blizzard: This attack is used if the Regisvine's weak point is not broken after a long period of time. The Regisvine channels its Cryo powers and lets ice rain from the air, aiming at where the player is currently standing and also aiming slightly ahead of where the player is currently moving, dealing Cryo DMG on hit. The fallen ice bolts will also explode and leave behind a patch of Cryo that deals Cryo DoT to characters who step on it until it dissipates. This attack can be dodged by simply running around the arena, sprinting is not required.

Previews

Corolla Phase

The Cryo Regisvine enters this phase when it wakes up from its paralyzed state after its roots weak point is destroyed. Its weak point is located at its corolla during this phase. Upon entering this phase, it immediately performs Flail and Rotary Spray. If the corolla weak point is not destroyed after a long period of time, the weak point will return to its roots and the regisvine will re-enter Roots Phase.

  • Flail: Smashes its head on the floor and swings 360 degrees around its roots, dealing Cryo DMG and knocking players away.
  • Half Flail: Smashes its head on the floor and swings 180 degrees around its roots, dealing Cryo DMG and knocking players away.
    • This attack can be chained up to two times, and may be followed up by Faceplant.
  • Rotary Spray: The Cryo Regisvine will lean its head forward at the player, with its buds (arms) spread, and, after locking onto the players location, will fire a huge beam of Cryo from its corolla while slowly turn around 360 degrees, dealing massive Cryo DMG to any players caught in the beam and infusing the outer ring of the arena with Cryo. The infused ground will deal Cryo DoT to characters who step on it until it dissipates.
  • Faceplant: Charges and slams itself into the ground, causing three trails of ice to spike from the ground, dealing Cryo DMG.
    • In Phase 2, this attack may be chained rapidly three times.

Strategy

During the fight, it is necessary to destroy the Regisvine's weak point to allow large amounts of damage to be dealt upon it. While Pyro, Electro, Anemo, Geo can all deal damage to the weak point, Pyro is the most effective. Therefore, a Pyro character is highly recommended.

In Phase 2, while the corolla weak point is normally hard to reach using non-bow-wielding characters, the regisvine will expose it during the Faceplant attack by smashing its corolla into the ground, allowing non-bow-wielding characters to damage it.

While the Blizzard attack may be visually menacing, it can be dodged easily by simply running around the arena in one direction, in which case none of the ice bolts will be able to hit the player. It is not necessary to sprint during this attack.
