Blunt Attacks or Heavy Attacks refer to Character Talents and enemy attacks that can damage Geo Constructs, ore, and shields more significantly than others, and Shatter Frozen targets. These include:
- Claymore Attacks
- Plunging Attacks (Except Bow and Catalyst)[1]
- Most Geo DMG
- Exceptions include Ningguang's Plunging Attack, Gorou's Charged Attack and Crystal Collapses, Yun Jin's Opening Flourish.
- Note that non-Blunt Geo attacks can still trigger Shatter, but do not benefit from the increased effectiveness against Geo Constructs and Shields.
- Exceptions include Ningguang's Plunging Attack, Gorou's Charged Attack and Crystal Collapses, Yun Jin's Opening Flourish.
- Explosions
The term Blunt is used in the Genshin Impact source code to indicate the Strike Type. Note that "Blunt" is a separate attribute from poise damage (though there is a tendency for Blunt attacks to have high poise damage, it is not necessarily true that having a high poise damage makes the attack "Blunt").
List of Blunt Attacks
Below is a full list of character abilities that are considered Blunt Attacks.[2] Any ability not found here, including Passive Talents and Constellations, is not considered Blunt.
