Barbara is a playable Hydro character in Genshin Impact. She is received for free in the Baptism of Song Event for completing the quest A Long Shot during the Prologue Act III: Song of the Dragon and Freedom.

Barbara is the deaconess of the Church of Favonius and a self-proclaimed "idol" after learning about them from the intrepid adventurer Alice.

Introduction

The Deaconess of the Favonius Church and a shining starlet adored by all. Although the concept of a starlet is rather novel in a city of bards, the people of Mondstadt love Barbara nonetheless. "I owe everything to the city's spirit of freedom" — Barbara, regarding her popularity.

Barbara is charismatic individual who does her best to spread joy all around. The mere sight of her alone can boost people's spirits.

She has been bright and optimistic from a young age, albeit being a bit clumsy at times. Regardless, she's able to quickly recover and jump back into it.

Barbara is a hard-worker, but can be hard on herself at times. However successful she may seem to others, she shares her own mixed feelings on her achievements. Barbara will become somewhat disillusioned and doubtful when pondering about how long a smile lasts on someone's face after listening to her song.

Barbara has a bit of an inferiority complex when it comes her sister, wanting to surpass her sister in at least one thing, be it popularity or grades. Even now, she continues to repress these feelings. Regardless, she unconditionally loves her sister just as much.

Her craving for recognition switched over into the mere desire to help people. Even with all her depressing thoughts, she quickly jumps back on her feet, disallowing herself to be depressed for more than 30 seconds. Barbara continues to strive for excellence, believing she'll be of help to her sister.

Appearance

Barbara has a small, petite build with ash blonde hair and blue eyes.

She wears a white frock that is open at the shoulders with blue frills and gold lining, along with white tights, black flats with block heels, and a blue and white cap resembling a nurse's cap with a gold cross on its front. Her white tights have a faint flower polka-dot pattern, and her flats have blue cuffs attached above her ankles.

A gold-adorned spell-book with a light blue cover and a small cross charm hangs at her side, attached to a black strap held together with a gold hoop.

	Let the Show Begin♪	Elemental Skill
Summons water droplets resembling musical notes that form a Melody Loop, dealing Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents and applying the Wet status to them. Melody Loop On hit, Barbara's Normal Attacks heal your own party members and nearby teammates for a certain amount of HP, which scales with Barbara's Max HP. On hit, Barbara's Charged Attack generates 4 times the amount of healing. Periodically regenerates your own active character's HP. Applies the Wet status to the character and to opponents who come in contact with them. This skill does not generate any Elemental Particles. This skill deals 2 instances of damage at the start of the skill. While this skill is active, Normal and Charged Attacks will heal unconditionally if the attack hits an opponent. Every 5 seconds, this skill regenerates health and briefly applies Wet to the active character and co-op members who come in contact with Melody Loop's ring. The Continuous Regeneration ticks once on Barbara herself upon activation then every 5 seconds for 4 heals in total, which means other characters can benefit from a maximum of 3 heals. Melody Loop's Wet application on contact has additional properties: When an entity enters the ring, an AoE Hydro application will be triggered. That entity then enters a 1.5-second CD before it can be registered for another AoE Hydro application. A hit is registered with a blinking of the Melody Loop as well as a SFX. Multiple entities have their separate timers, thus multiple hits can occur in a brief moment. Due to its ICD, Melody Loop can apply Wet to the same target a maximum of twice within 2.5 seconds no matter how many times it is triggered.
