- ↑ Chinese: Reference to the Buddhist saying of the same name, which stems from the Three Meditations of the Tiantai sect's method of describing reality as void (or noumenal), transient (or phenomenal), and medial (both). The saying 一空一切空 yīkōng yī qiè kōng refers to the idea that void encompasses both the transient and medial aspects, therefore they are all part of void. The same encompassing sense also applies to the transient and medial, defining reality as simultaneously being all three.
