- "Painter" De Niro's name is a reference to American painter Robert De Niro Sr., although the role that "Painter" De Niro takes in the story is more reminiscent of De Niro Sr.'s son Robert De Niro, an American actor who starred in the 1974 American epic crime film The Godfather Part II.
