第一幕 「栄華と炎天の途」[]
新たな旅、新たな出会い…それはまるで広大な世界が絶えず広がり続ける絵巻のようだ。
見知らぬ土地で、聖火競技場は静かに英雄を待っている…
- ナタ！新たな旅へ
ロマリタイムハーバーに到着した旅人とパイモンは、ナタに向かうことを話し合う。パイモンは、稲妻からナタに向かったにもかかわらず、ナタで一人の人間も見なかったと言い、ナタにはもう人間がいないのかと心配する。突然シャルロットが現れ、彼らが出発すると聞いて写真を撮る。ナヴィア、クロリンデ、フリーナも旅人に別れを告げにやってきて、ナタでの旅が何事もなく終わることを願う。写真撮影を終え、旅人とパイモンはナタへと旅立つ。
ナタでは、パイモンが景色と平原を歩き回る多くの動物について語った。は人が住んでいる気配に気づき、ナタの誰か、そしてできれば彼らの神に出会えることを期待して道を進む。ある村に着くと、2人の大人が子供と話していた。少女カチーナは動揺していたが、2人を行かせた。旅人とパイモンは彼女に近づき、手助けを申し出るが、カチーナは巡礼はナタの原住民だけが対象だと告げる。しかし、彼らが見かけより強いことを知ったカチーナは、自分も準備するために彼らから学ぶことを頼む。
途中、部族民がダンスを踊っているステージを通り過ぎ、カチーナは自分の部族がどのようにリズムに合わせることができるかを説明する。その後、彼らは竜の仲間であるユーちゃんに遭遇し、彼女の部族である「こだまの子」,と竜の仲間であるテペトル竜との関係について説明する。さらに下っていくと、パカルがカチーナに近づく前に、部族の大霊を象徴する大きな黒い石に出くわす。カチーナは二人を紹介し、パカルは二人の名前を尋ねる。旅人は彼らの手帳を差し出すが、パカルは冒険者協会を混血と見ているため、それを受け取らなかった。しかし、彼らの名前を聞くと、不信感を謝罪し、カチーナに彼らからよく学ぶように忠告する。パイモンは大霊のことを尋ね、大霊は誰が「古名」を受け継ぐにふさわしいかを決めるのだと説明する。カチーナは、なぜ大霊が自分を「古名」の継承者に選んだのかわからないが、パカルは未来に目を向けるように言う。
巡礼の申し込みが終わりに近づき、カチーナは申し込みのために会場に向かうことにし、炎神が直接来ることを期待できると伝える。彼らは地元の七天神像に立ち寄り、旅人は元素の力を得るために像と共鳴しようとする。しかし驚いたことに、旅人は像との共鳴に失敗する。それにもかかわらず、彼らはカチーナにその力を見せ、カチーナは人が一度に複数の元素を使えることに驚く さらに道を歩き、カチーナは休憩が必要だと判断し、炎神が実は人間であることを説明し、旅人とパイモンを驚かせる。カチーナは燃素に気づき、ナタの人間しか使えないと説明するが、旅人はそれを起動させ、カチーナを驚かせる。そこに大きなサルイアンが現れ、カチーナはそれをトトと認識する。トトは頭を下げ、カチーナはトトに乗れと言っているのだと説明するが、トトを疲れさせないために街のすぐ外で止まることにした。
しばらく歩くと、3人は街の郊外に到着した。そこにクフル・アハウが現れ、カチーナが遅刻してキィニチとムアラニの時間を無駄にしたことを叱り始めた。キィニチとムアラニが現れ、前者はアハウをタイムアウトに追い込み、カチーナにチームメイトの居場所を尋ねる。彼女が再び見捨てられたことを知った彼は、結局は個人の力量がものを言うのだと言う。ムアラニは、カチーナが「夜巡者の戦争」に参加する寸前だったことを指摘する。キィニチは、これは誰がアビスと戦い、祖国を守るにふさわしいかを見極めるためのテストだと説明する。今回の巡礼では、5人がアビスと戦うことになった。カチーナには協力者がいなかったため、ムアラニは特別な事情で旅人とパイモンの参加を認めてもらえないか頼むことにした。
ムアラニが元チームメイトにこのニュースを伝えるのを待つ間、残りのメンバーは登録会場へ向かった。カチーナは彼らに、彼らがナタの六部族を代表していることを告げる。キィニチは「懸木の民」の子孫の一員でユムカ竜に近いこと、ムアラニは「流泉の衆」の出身であること、そして他の3部族は「謎煙の主」、「花翼の集」、「豊穣の邦」であることを告げる。ムアラニが戻り、仲間を代表して正式に旅人に挨拶をしてから登録場所に向かうと、ムアラニはシヴァルに例外を認めてもらえないかと頼む。シヴァルは、アビスと戦うために必要な「角逐の焔」の生産が危うくなるからと断る。
キィニチはさらに、「古名」を授けられた者だけがアビスと戦えるが、「古名」を持たない者が勝利しても、「古名」を持つ者と同じ扱いを受けると説明する。「反魂の詩」は「古名」を持つ者にしか効き目がなく、巡礼はチームワークを植え付けるためのものだった。彼はまた、何度か倒れ、大霊の領域、つまり「夜神の国」に連れてこられたと語った。シヴァルは受付を済ませ、チームに食事と宿が用意されていることを伝える。ムアラニは旅人とパイモンに、すべては炎神の好意で提供されたもので、友人や家族も恩恵を受けることができると伝える。二人は草臥の家に向かい、地元の名物料理をご馳走になる。カチーナは今度の巡礼についてまだ緊張していたが、ムアラニと旅人は彼女を元気づけた。彼女が自家製フルーツジュースを買いに出かける間、キィニチは旅人に、ムアラニは「夜巡者の戦争」を3度経験したベテランで、復活する必要は全くなかったと話す。ムアラニはカチーナと勝利を分かち合い、彼女の機嫌を直したいと話す。
- 帰火聖夜の巡礼
翌日、旅人とパイモンがスタンドから見守る中、一行は巡礼に参加する準備をする。巡礼の第一部は、争奪戦の火花を集めるチームから始まる。カチーナとムアラニは協力して競争相手を倒し、ステージをクリアする。 その後、ムアラニとカチーナは別々のラウンジに配置され、離れ離れになる。この間、2人の元参加者が、以前の巡礼でカチーナが自分たちを失格させる役割を果たしたと思い込み、カチーナを脅そうとした。旅人が仲裁に入り、カチーナはスタッフから現在の戦いに集中するよう説得される。しばらくの休憩の後、彼女はスタジアムに向かい、そこでウクンガと対戦して彼を倒し、「夜巡者の戦争」に参加することを決意する。さらに数戦の後、リリウと対戦。カチーナはウクンガに勝るとも劣らない戦いを見せたが、カチーナは彼女を倒し、リリウは先ほど彼女を愚弄したことを詫び、彼女の強さを認めた。
ラウンジに戻ったカチーナは、ムアラニが入ってくるなり、声援を送ってくれた旅人とパイモンの声援に感謝し、次のラウンドの最後の対戦相手が彼女であることを明かした。カチーナは友人と戦わなければならないことに動揺するが、ムアラニはどんな結果になっても受け入れる。カチーナは身支度を整え、アリーナに戻る。彼女はまだ緊張しているが、ムアラニは彼女を安心させ、彼らは戦う。カチーナは奇襲攻撃で勝利を収め、その結果、彼女はチャスカ、イアンサ、ケウラニ、キバングとともに「夜巡者の戦争」に参加することになる。
カチーナたちがアビスとの戦いに向かう間、ムアラニは旅人をナタに案内することにしたが、ちょうどキィニチも同じ考えを持っていた。先にムアラニが尋ねてきたので、ムアラニは承諾し、彼女を村に連れて行くことを許可する。
- 温泉の郷
3人はムアラニの村に到着し、温泉へ行かせようとするが、アテアに止められ、不文律を思い知らされる。部外者は、やけどや火傷を避けるため、自然の温泉を利用する前にまず人工温泉で体を慣らさなければならない。ムアラニは、アテアは親友だが、アビの怪物に突き刺されてからは温泉を楽しめなくなったと明かす。その後二人は、彼女が廃墟と化した温泉に入るのを目撃した後、密かにパーティーを企画していたアミナ族長とその護衛たちと合流する。 人工の温泉に浸かり、アテアのスナックに助けられた後、彼らはパーティの進捗状況を確認する。残念なことに、ほとんど何もできていなかったので、ムアラニは旅人を連れて村を案内し、会場の準備に必要なものを手に入れた。 設営は一晩中かかったが、残念なことにアテアが警備に志願したため、明日に持ち越しとなった。
ムアラニは旅人とパイモンを宿に連れて行き、そこで一晩眠ることにした。しかし、叫び声を聞いて突然目が覚めた。数匹の獣域ハウンドと竜のアビスの姿からなるアビスが村を攻撃するために出現したのだ。村に入ってきた数人のはぐれ者を倒し、ムアラニは状況を把握するためにアミナに話を聞くことにした。アミナはこのエリアに境門が1つあることを確認したが、もっとあるかもしれないと告げる。ムアラニと旅人は確認された境門に向かい、それを破壊する。その時、旅人は遠くからさらなる魔物がやって来るのに気づく。二人は境門を破壊するためにその場所に向かったが、アテアは重傷を負いながらも境門を破壊していた。 医者を呼ぶことになった旅人は、彼女に十分な時間がないことに気づき、モンドにいたときにトワリンを浄化するのに使った結晶を取り出す。これでアテアから刻印が消えたが、旅人は彼女がひどく打たれており、最期が近いことを知りながら廃泉に行ったのではないかと心配する。
翌日、パーティは始まったが、アテアの姿はどこにもなかった。後に彼女は到着し、旅人たちの行動に感謝するが、彼らの沈黙が彼女を不安にさせる。その後、彼女はムアラニを見つけ、「散歩」に同行させる。しかし、ムアラニの活躍を目の当たりにし、部族は大丈夫だと安心した。彼女はまた、旅人にお守りを手渡し、再会したら炎神に渡してほしいと頼む。
第二幕「白石に埋もれし黒石」[]
- 選択
しばらく「流泉の衆」の民と過ごした後、パイモンは彼らのもてなしと、この2日間が彼らにとって休暇のように感じられたことを話す。ちょうどその時、ムアラニとチュニーナが到着し、「夜巡者の戦争」の一行が戻ってきたことを告げる。当然のことながら、カチーナは戦いで倒れたが、一行が勝利したため、「反魂の詩」が彼女を生き返らせる。しかし、名誉なことなので、彼女は頭を高く上げていなければならない。ムアラニは旅人に、アビスは信じられているほど単純なものではなかったと説明する。テイワットの国々がアビスに襲われた災厄のとき、アビスは部族ごとに特別に災厄を作り出したようだった。当時の炎神と民衆の行動により、彼らは徐々にアビスを撃退することができたが、その過程で大量の犠牲者を出し、被ったダメージの回復も極めて遅かった。
街に戻ると、予想以上に時間がかかった依頼を終えたばかりのキィニチに会う。スタジアムに向かい、観衆は「反魂の詩」を歌うが、カチーナは姿を現さず、観衆に衝撃を与える。観客の中にいたテペスパンとタムインは、カチーナが失敗したことに罵声を浴びせ始めるが、チャスカは自分たちの任務は成功したと主張し、ムアラニを激怒させる。マーヴィカは、なぜカチーナが戻らなかったのか自分でもよくわからないと言い、彼らの罵声を止めさせる。ムアラニはマーヴィカに、カチーナに戻ってきてほしいと頼み、「談議室」で会うように言う。
その部屋でマーヴィカは、アビスが巡礼の「ルール」を損ない、聖火を脅かす方法を見つけたのではないかと推理した。メツトリ部族への攻撃と合わせ、彼女はさらなる犠牲者を出しながら巡礼を続けるか、アビスが国への攻撃を強める代償として巡礼を中止するかのどちらかを選ばなければならなかった。キィニチは最初の選択肢の方が危険は少ないと述べるが、マーヴィカはどちらの選択肢も同じように悪いと考える。巡礼への信頼を損ない、部族を分裂させようとするものだからだ。マーヴィカは、謎煙の主たちの助けを借りれば、カチーナの古名を見つけ、彼女の居場所を特定することができると言う。ムアラニと旅人は、まだ守るべき約束がたくさんあるため、カチーナ救出に志願する。チャスカもまた、任務中にカチーナを守れなかったことへの償いとして、協力することを決める。
イアンサはさらに、マーヴィカには巡礼を中断する理由があると推測し、彼女はそれを確認した。頻繁に巡礼を主催しているにもかかわらず、「角逐の焔」の生産量は十分とは言えず、限界に達しているのだという。巡礼の中断は、アビスから身を守るために各部族の力を維持するためでもあった。聖火を継続させるため、マーヴィカは自分の力を犠牲にすることを決意するが、キィニチは他の古名を持つ者を見つけることに集中すべきだと考える。マーヴィカは彼に、大霊が自分たちを選んだのだから、時が経つのを待つべきだと言った。
突然、ある人物がスタジアムに入ってきて、ファデュイがいることを神に警告する。2人のファデュイ先遣隊が到着するが、その前にもう1人、「隊長」 — ファデュイ執行官第一位であることが判明する。「隊長」は、500年前の誓いを果たせなかったマーヴィカを非難し、ナタに新しい時代とルールをもたらすが、その前に古いものを排除すると宣言する。マーヴィカと「隊長」は激突し、前者は「隊長」の胸に傷を負わせたが、「謎煙の主」 の誰かが霧を出して「隊長」を逃がした。マーヴィカはその気配を察知し、キィニチにシトラリにその人物の正体を聞くよう命じたが、一方、部屋に戻ったパイモンは何が起こったのか不思議に思っていた。
- 古名を取り戻す旅
物理的に「夜神の国」に入るには、そのためのスピリットストーンが必要だ。一行はウィッツトラン部族に向かい、チャスカはワイナにそのストーンを求める。ワイナはストーンが必要な理由を聞いて驚き、それに応じる。さらに彼は、「夜神の国」を渡り歩くのに十分な経験を持つヴィチャマを紹介する。一行はヴィチャマに近づくが、ヴィチャマはその後友人のマルコを探すのを手伝ってくれるのであれば協力することに同意し、そのための材料であるロープと黒曜石を持ってくるよう頼む。一行はこの2つのアイテムを手に入れ、ヴィチャマが落ち込んでいた理由を知る。ある巡礼の旅の最中、彼は戦いの前夜にアビスが彼の部族を攻撃した際に負傷していたのだ。怪我を負ったヴィチャマは一行の重荷になることを恐れ、一行とともに炎神に例外を願い出た。その願いは受け入れられたが、不運なことに、一行はアビスの魔物の予想以上の大群に包囲され、圧倒されてしまった。
儀式を始めたヴィチャマは魔物に襲われるが、一行はなんとか撃退する。カチーナの名前は何とか聞き出せたが、マルコの名前は耐え難い痛みに耐えながらも見つけられなかった。このため、チャスカは皆を守るために石を破壊せざるを得なくなり、旅人はマルコの記憶のひとつを見つけることに成功する。ヴィチャマは再び彼の声を聞いて安堵したものの、その笑顔と口調が強引なものであったことを知り、残る決断をしたことを嘆いた。ムアラニは、自分がアビスのエネルギーに汚染されたことを告げるが、症状を抑えれば大丈夫だとアドバイスする。ワイナのもとに戻った一行は、チャスカの妹クイクを見つける。ワイナは一行にチャスカの過去を説明し、2人の姉妹はチャスカが「夜神の国」に行くことを決めたことについて言い争う。結局、クイクは姉を支えることに同意し、二人はワイナに石が割れたことを伝えた。クイクはシトラリが怒ることを恐れたが、後で事情を説明することに同意し、彼らの成功を祈った。
- 生命のこだま
カチーナの古名を取り戻した一行は聖火競技場に戻り、そこでマーヴィカが「隊長」と彼女の生贄と衝突していたことを知る。彼女は2人を別の部屋に案内し、そこで彼女が長年保管していた大量の思い出の品を発見する。そしてマーヴィカは、テノッチが部族を統一しナタを救った後、災厄の間に初代炎神が現在のルールの基礎を築いたと説明し、パイモンがマーヴィカと彼女の家族の肖像画に気づく。その話を終えると、火薬が落ち着き、一行は儀式を始める。
カチーナは一行の前に現れ、最初はアビスのトリックだと思ったが、そうではないと確信する。彼女は 「死 」の間、「夜神の国」を調査し、アビスが大霊に影響を及ぼしていることを発見し、その結果、自分が戻ってこられなくなったと告げる。彼女は何が起こるかを恐れており、最初は彼女から離れるように言ったが、ムアラニは連絡を絶つ前にそれを拒否した。マーヴィカは「夜神の国」への入り口を指し示し、イアンサは成功の可能性を高めるために一緒に行くことを志願する。
遺跡に到着したパイモンは、当時のナタ文明がいかに先進的であったかを語るが、チャスカとイアンサは、実は元素七龍の文明であったと訂正する。 アビスの存在により、かつては廃墟だった遺跡の様々な装置が起動し、様々なヒルチャールやサウリアンの顕現の中を戦い、「夜神の国」へと続く裂け目に到着する。
- 永夜に落ちる
その裂け目に足を踏み入れた一行は、長い落差のようなところを転げ落ちるが、無傷だった。アビスに蝕まれた「夜神の国」で、チャスカは一行に警戒するよう警告する。未知の存在は、自分たちがアビスの力の現れであることを告げ、ヴィチャマの友人であるマルコだと名乗る。マルコは、自分の死後、不思議な力が自分を呼んでいるのを感じるまで、その領域に迷い込んでいたと説明する。彼らがカチーナのためにここにいることを知った彼は、彼らを助けることを申し出、顕現から彼らを守る。彼らはカチーナが数匹の獣域ウルブズに襲われているのを見つけ、退治する。カチーナは友人たちとの再会に安堵し、大霊まで同行するよう頼む。マルコが大霊の意識が「夜神の国」でどのように働くかを説明すると、一行は同意し、問題の原因である魔物を引きずり出すことができるかもしれない。
トーテムに到着した一行は浄化を始めるが、そこへコモンキと呼ばれるアビスの詠唱者が現れ、マルコの魂を消し去った。コモンキは、アビスの力による破壊の機会を見たいと願う観客であり、炎神が「根源的な」力を人々と分かち合うことを拒否し、彼女が推進する概念は無意味だと主張する。カチーナは最初、その言葉に取り乱していたが、ムアラニに元気づけられ、2人は短い戦いの後、詠唱者を追い払った。ムアラニの行動により、トゥパックと呼ばれる妖怪が現れ、彼女が本当の自分を認め、部族の大霊の側面を体現したことを祝福する。ムアラニは過去の記憶を呼び覚まされ、ナタを救う計画が災厄の最中に始まっていたことに気づく。
トーテムも同様に浄化され、大霊はカチーナと話し、彼女の成長を喜んだ後、地震がこの地域を揺るがすので立ち去るように告げた。一行は裂け目から逃げようと競争するが、遅すぎた。すべてが絶望的と思われたその時、マーヴィカが現れ、夜域を砕き、彼らを現実に引き戻す一行は最初、彼女がどうやって（彼女の意識の投影であるにもかかわらず）そんなことができたのか混乱したが、彼女自身に尋ねることにした。
- 過去と未来
「談議室」に戻ったクイクュは、一行をアビスの汚染で治療するが、旅人には免疫があるようだ。マーヴィカは、彼らがナタを救うために重要な役割を果たすと述べ、災厄の後、部族とその大霊は弱体化し、再び強化する必要があると説明する。大霊 が自分たちの名付け親を選んだとき、それは部族が戦闘力を取り戻したことを示すものだった。しかし、計画の一部は一部の部族に届かず、国家が滅亡する前に残りの2人を見つけるには一年足らずしかない。彼女は、他の二人の英雄を見つけるのは忍耐が必要だとアドバイスする。とはいえ、カチーナが無事に戻ってきたので、一行はお祝いをするために宿に向かった。
草臥の家でパカルたちはカチーナの帰還を祝う。祭りの最中、マーヴィカは旅人と話し、ナタを救う手助けをしてほしいと頼まれる。マーヴィカは彼らを支援し、もし彼らがそれを受け入れるなら、自分たちの古名を作ることも約束する。彼らの同意を得て、彼女はシロネンに注文を出す準備をする。
ナタの荒野で、レザノフは「隊長」に炎神が力を失っていることを告げ、神の心を手に入れるべきかと尋ねる。「隊長」は彼女への敗北を認め、自らの主義に逆らうことを望まなかったため、これを拒否する。すると何者かが、マーヴィカが自分たちの作った霧を晴らさないことに決めたと告げ、次の作戦は何かと尋ねる。「隊長」は、彼らが役に立っていることを認めてから、「ここ」から何か聞いたかと尋ねた。
第三幕 「鏡と謎煙の彼方」[]
この世には英雄が必要だ。死の静寂を切り裂く奇跡の光を。
- すべては崇高な名の下に
2日後、ナタの冒険者協会で、ピルシンはキャサリンとアビスの動きについての情報を共有する。彼が立ち去ると、旅人とパイモンが近づいてきて、何かすることはないかと尋ねる。彼女は、アビスの急速な脅威のため、炎神が懸木の民と協会が協力して情報を発信し、より効率的に脅威に対処することを決めたと話す。そのため、神は全国に駐留させるために力を集めている。キャサリンは、カチーナがスタジアムに行き、駐留戦士の一人に登録するのに十分な体調を整えているところに出くわした。シロネンは、旅人を古名にすることを彼女に告げ、その仕事に集中するために通常の任務を脇に置き、始める準備は万端だった。
「こだまの子」に向かったカチーナは、旅人とパイモンをシロネンの工房に案内する。シロネンは、彼女が古名を作ろうとしていた相手が異邦人だったことに驚く。マーヴィカはそのことを彼女に告げず、相手が旅人であること、そして「かなり難しい」ことだけを告げたからだ。彼女は、たとえ偉大な功績を残したとしても、異邦人に 「古名」をつけることは不可能だと説明する。カチーナはシロネンに、彼らのハンドブックにはたくさん書いてあったと話すが、シロネンは、夜神の国が記録できるように、その行いはナタで行われたものでなければならず、たとえそうであったとしても、夜神の国はナタ人でない者が行った行いを記録しないのだと説明する。一見不可能に見える仕事だが、シロネンはマーヴィカが自分を信頼してくれている証拠だと考え、自分の能力を試すためにやり遂げるつもりだ。まずは大霊に認めてもらう必要がある。パイモンは、以前会ったこだまの子の大霊に相談することを提案するが、シロネンはそれが最良の候補ではないかもしれないと指摘し、旅人は6人の大霊全員に認めてもらう必要があるのではないかと考える。
シロネンは、それが最善の方法かどうか確信が持てず、夜神の国と大霊の専門家であるシトラリに相談することにした。パイモンは気まずそうに、カチーナを救出する過程で彼女の「スピリットストーン」を壊してしまったから、もっと大変だったと説明する。シロネンは、彼女が逆らわないことを信じて、神に命じられた任務であることを指摘すべきだと述べる。シロネンはまた、旅人を支持する手紙を書くことにし、カチーナは、シトラリがよく知っているベテランの交渉人であるキィニチに配達させることを提案する。
キィニチは近くの七天神像で一行と合流し、手紙を受け取り、「スピリットストーン」で起こったことをシトラリに謝罪する計画を立てる。シロネンは旅人とカチーナがその計画を知っていることを知り、キィニチは、「隊長」を救出した人物がオロルンであったことを知らせる。オロルンは謎煙の主のメンバーで、ほとんどの時間を一人で過ごしている。シトラリが彼の失踪に気づいたとき、オロルンはかなり長い間姿を消していたが、パイモンは、彼女がほとんどの時間を自分の部屋に閉じこもって過ごしていたのなら、なぜ最初に彼の失踪に気づいたのか不思議に思っていた。キィニチは、オロルンが自発的にファデュイに加わったのか、それとも自発的でなかったのかわからないため、シトラリが他の部族に汚名を晴らしたがっているのだろうと推測する。シトラリの返事を待つことになり、カチーナは配属に備えて荷造りをする必要があったため、一行は別れた。
2日後、旅人とパイモンはシロネンの工房に戻ったが、彼女は手紙に返事をくれなかったと言う。しかし、彼女は聖火競技場にいるかもしれない。このため、パイモンは彼女が実際に到着した直後に彼女の年齢について文句を言い、彼女を怖がらせる。シロネンは旅人とパイモンに、シトラリが肩書きよりずっと若く見えることを黙っていたことを詫びた。シロネンはシトラリに、マーヴィカに頼まれたことを話す。シトラリは、オロルンの潔白を証明できるのであれば、「古名」について協力することに同意する。シトラリは旅人の手を握って彼らの過去を調べ、彼らにはほとんどの人間が夢見ることができる以上の多くの経験があると言った。彼女はその気配を消し去り、夜神の国を訪れたときに彼らの体にまとわりついた複数の魂の残滓だと告げる。

日没後、オロルンの最後の居場所に到着したシトラリは、目撃者がオロルンが数人のファデュイと話すのを見たと話す。彼女はオロルンが自らファデュイに味方するとは信じがたく、パイモンにオロルンについて尋ねる。シトラリは、オロルンは孤児で部族に育てられたと言う。アブラムシはフロギストンの痕跡を残していたが、旅人とパイモンはシトラリに助けられるまでその痕跡を見ることができなかった。その痕跡を追ううちに、シトラリの呪文の副作用である不安の念が聞こえてくる。やがて彼らは放棄されたキャンプ場を見つけ、そこでシトラリは部族に救難信号として知られているシンボルに気づく。
道をさらに進むと、シトラリは喧嘩があったことに気づき、道が分かれていることに気づく。旅人とパイモンは別の道を行く。二人が小道を進むと、突然小道が途切れた。旅人は何が起こったのか不思議に思っていると、地底の風を感じ取ることに長けていたことを告げる声が聞こえ、気を失って夜神の国へと落ちていく。背後から男が忍び寄り、旅人に動くなと命じる。夜神の国は夜風のマスターたちが支配する領域で、彼らは逃げ場がないからだ。その男はオロルンと名乗り、この道は彼の友人が手っ取り早く会合を開くために設けたものだと告げる。
「隊長」は、同僚から彼らのことを聞き、直接会いたいと言っていた旅人を出迎えた。彼は旅人に自分の目的、動機、マーヴィカへの不信感を説明し、彼女の計画に盲目的に従う価値はないと考えた。もっと詳しく知りたいのなら、スタジアムの東で会うべきだと言うが、争いを避けたいので他の誰にも話さないようにと警告する。オロルンは旅人に、シトラリが巻き込まれるのを避けたかったので、シトラリに会合のことを話さないよう頼む。旅人の魂はパイモンが心配していた現実に戻る。その後、シトラリが到着するが、旅人は二人の出会いをどちらにも知らせないことにした。シトラリはファデュイのキャンプを見つけることに成功しオロルンがそこに収容されているかもしれないと考えている。
コステリツキーという名のファデュイがオロルンに仕事に戻るよう命じる中、彼らはオロルンがキャンプにいることを確認する。チターリは怒りを爆発させ、ファデュイを全員殴り倒した後、オロルンが教えられた警告を忘れたことを叱る。彼女はなぜ「隊長」を助けたのかと尋ね、彼はもし助けなかったら、彼らは代わりに彼女を狙っただろうと告げる。それでもオロルンが無事回復したため、二人は議長の間に戻り、コヨパに報告する。コヨパはオロルンに、神が決断したら戻るように言う。シトラリが宿を探すためにオロルンを連れ出すと、旅人は彼と「隊長」が倒れた時に会ったことを明かす。パイモンはその事実を知り驚くが、それでも彼らを助けることに同意する。
翌日の夜、旅人とパイモンは待ち合わせ場所に向かう。最初にオロルンが現れ、安全が確認されると、「隊長」を呼んだ。「隊長」は自分の判断が正しかったと考え、彼らの意図とは裏腹に、彼らが未知なるものへの情熱に溢れ、危険を冒すことを厭わないことを「公子」から学んだ。もし彼らが今の道を進むなら、結局は彼と戦うことになるだろう。一度彼らに真実を話せば、代わりに彼の提案を考えてくれるかもしれないと彼は信じている。「隊長」はマーヴィカの計画が成功するとは思っていない。2人の英雄が現れるかどうかわからないし、現れたとしてもその力は十分ではないかもしれない。彼は、実行すれば大きな代償を払うことになるが、彼女が彼らに言わなかった別の計画があることを明かす。自分が疑心暗鬼に悩まされていると信じている彼女は、計画が実際に機能するのが手遅れになるまで、厳しい現実を無視するだろう。
パイモンは彼の論理に納得せず、彼は女皇のために神の心を奪いに来たのだと考える。旅人は、バックアッププランに神の心が含まれていることに気づき、「隊長」は、彼らが合意に達すれば、彼のプランを実行することができると述べる。しかし、彼は自分の言葉を切り、不可解なことに姿を消した。オロルンは何かが近づいてくるのを察知する。シトラリは、オロルンがファデュイと結託していたことに怒り、説明を求める。彼女が彼を懲らしめる前に、パイモンが割って入った。

シトラリは、スタジアムの人里離れた場所で他愛もない話をするよう2人に頼むが、そこで彼女は、部族が自分を年寄りと呼ぶことへの不安を口にする。彼女はまた、オロルンが部族の中でも異質な存在であり、不完全な魂を持っていることを明かす。そのため、彼らは彼を夜神の国からの魂を宿す器として使おうとし、彼女に許可を求めた。儀式は失敗し、オロルンは命からがら逃げ出したが、自分が貢献できなかったことに憤慨していた。シトラリが去ると、旅人はマーヴィカに予備の計画について尋ねることにした。

宿に戻って休んでいた旅人とパイモンは、宿の外の騒ぎに起こされる。外にいたシトラリは、アビスが自分の部族を含む全国的な攻撃を開始したため、活動の監督に戻らなければならないことを明かす。外に出ると、ムアラニ、チャスカ、クイク、イアンサがいた。イアンサは、アビスが夜風の支配者たち、「こだまの子」、豊穣の集団、そして多数の前哨基地を一度に攻撃したことを告げる。チャスカとクイクは原野で生存者を探し、イアンサは部族に戻り、ムアラニは「こだまの子」に向かうことになった。旅人は彼らにマーヴィカと話す必要があると告げる。彼女は彼らから、彼らが「隊長」に会ったことを聞き、バックアッププランが真実かどうか尋ねる。それでも、地脈を修復しなければ腐食の危険性があり、結局は同じことを繰り返すことになる。彼女は、彼がどうやってこの計画を知ったのか不思議に思いながらも、この件を秘密にしてほしいと頼む。

2人はチャスカとクイクを見つけ、ファデュイが人々を攻撃から守っていたことを明かす。下心は感じられなかったが、隊長の話を耳にした2人は、情報収集のために彼らをキャンプまで尾行することにする。チャスカは最初一人で入ろうとしたが、クイクに無理やり連れて行かれる。互いに協力し合い、ファデュイの横をこっそり通り過ぎ、カピバラ数頭の近くに悪臭爆弾を投げて注意をそらし、ファデュイと地元の部族が口論を始める。チャスカはファデュイが 「秘源装置」を探していることを突き止める。2人のファデュイがそのアイテムを船長に持ち帰ることにしたため、クイクは彼らの後を追い続けることにしたが、ファデュイの1人がそれを盗み聞きして追いかけてきた。なんとか追い払ったクイクは、さらに仕掛けを見つけたが、彼らが罠を仕掛けていると考え、スタジアムに戻ることにした。
マーヴィカは2人の努力に感謝し、「秘源装置」に詳しい学者全員を集めて、キャプテンの計画を確認することにした。彼らはスタジアムの北口に向かい、2人に別れを告げる。彼らが去った後、彼らはすべての情報をまとめようとするが、答えまであと一歩だと考える。そこへシトラリが現れ、オロルンが部族を守るために戻ってきたことを明かす。彼は彼女と距離を置いていたが、シトラリは彼の魂を定期的に安定させる必要があり、そのためイファに彼のために代わりの宝石を届けさせたことを明かす。その袋には、彼のすべての記憶を古い宝石にコピーする呪文も入っていた。シトラリは一人で行くつもりだったが、旅人は彼女とパイモンを連れて行くよう説得する。

数日後、「隊長」はマーヴィカと対決するためスタジアムに向かい、2人の部下を同行させ、他の部下には計画が失敗した場合は残って退却するよう命じる。マーヴィカに怪我を負わされたオロルンは、逃げようとする見覚えのある魂を察知する。「隊長」が死ねば手がかりが途絶えてしまうことを悟ったオロルンは、介入して彼を救うことにする。「隊長」はオロルンに、自分が夜神の国について調べていたことを明かすが、オロルンが自分も真実を感じ取ることができると明かすまで、オロルンは彼を計画から遠ざけようとする。
別の陣営では、「隊長」は被害を食い止めるネットを設置するよりも、地脈を再構築することがナタを救う唯一の方法だと考えている。
記憶を取り戻したシトラリは、オロルンが過去を忘れられないことに怒りを覚えるが、すぐに目の前の仕事に集中する。「隊長」は「運命の部屋」と同じような方法で地脈を再構築しようとしており、地脈を操作すれば全員の記憶が影響を受けることになる。カピターノの本気度を目の当たりにした彼らは、すぐにマーヴィカに報告することにした。
第四幕「燃ゆる運命の虹光」[]
- 秘源の下で
Heading to the Speaker's Chamber, Mavuika informs the three that she had located Capitano. Citlali informs her of Ororon's memory, of which she finds it dangerous and that his plan needed to be stopped, as it would be the same as using the Gnosis. Paimon wonders as to what forces they have, as the Abyss is still attacking. Mavuika states that she, Xilonen, Kinich and the Traveler would fight the Fatui, having a plan to handle the threat.
Mavuika intends to fight the Captain again, stating that if they could destroy the Source Mechanism, his plan would be stopped. Kinich and Xilonen advise against fighting him again, since she had lost her powers to fuel the Sacred Flame. Mavuika tells Kinich that Capitano would be guarding the device, and thus he and Ajaw would distract the bulk of the Fatui with a frontal assault while Xilonen would bring the others close to the device to destroy it. They ambush a patrol away from the camp and excavate a tunnel, infiltrating the base.
The group manages to reach Capitano and Ororon, who activates the device. Suddenly, Ororon becomes inexplicably powerful and attempts to attack Xilonen, only for Capitano to stop him and use a spell on him, demanding to know the entity occupying his body. The entity address him as "Commander," though the distraction allows the Traveler to shut the device off. The entity is upset that Capitano still worries for others even if it means losing.
Elsewhere, Ororon looks at his previous memories before a strange soul named Guthred, a Khaenri'ahn who insults Ororon over his worthlessness and plans to take his body once he dies. Ororon, refusing to go down quietly as he hadn't done anything meaningful in his life, resolves to keep going as a bright light appears from above. Mavuika commends Ororon for being able to withstand the pain with a damaged soul before asking if it was truly what he wanted. Ororon states that he just wants an answer for his life, just as his Ancient Name "Bidii," or devotion, appears for him revealing Sanhaj, a hero of the Masters of Night-Wind from the past. He is the fifth hero in the plan to repel the Abyss for good.
A voice then echoes through the cavern, revealing itself to be Yohualtecuhtin that Citlali had mentioned earlier. When the device was activated, it resulted in a cry that affected Ororon more due to his damaged soul, though she was impressed by how he managed to compose himself. Xilonen asks if that was responsible for his odd behavior, but Yohualtecuhtin tells her that another soul had tried to take refuge but was expelled, though its origins were unknown. Capitano asks why the Source Mechanism only awoke her rather than repair the lines, and she tells him that it was the source of the nation's Ley Lines. Mavuika explains that when the Descender and the dragons fought, it caused immense damage, especially to Natlan's Ley Lines. To stabilize them, Yohualtecuhtin used fragments of the old Ley Lines to reconstruct a similar network — the Night Kingdom.
The dragons tried to use the device to strengthen the Ley Lines with power, though they were ineffective as they could not navigate their intricate structures. As the Ley Lines have changed again, Yohualtecuhtin could rebuild the Ley Lines once more at the cost of her existence, while revealing that in the past, she was worshipped as a "lord" — before her kind died out, they were known as "Angels," though they are more commonly known in their devolved form as Seelies. Yohualtecuhtin states that due to Capitano and Ororon's plan, she could fulfill her promise to rebuild the Ley Lines at Mavuika's command, though Mavuika refuses; it would be no different than using the Gnosis. Capitano states that they don't have a choice, but Mavuika states that if the Abyss were to invade again, it would be worse for future generations. Paimon asks why he was so pessimistic about the situation, and he reveals that he is a survivor of Khaenri'ah who personally witnessed the horrors of the Abyss.
Capitano insists on ignoring false hope and maximizing the chances of survival, while Mavuika continues to reject his reasoning as it would make their life meaningless. As the two continue arguing, Ororon interjects, stating that with his life rekindled, he wishes to have a life with meaning. Xilonen agrees with him, and Yohualtecuhtin states that she is ready to perform the deed if they need to in the foreseeable future. Captiano begrudgingly agrees to Mavuika's plan, as it had the potential to create the best outcome and grants her his subordinates to use along with his direct assistance. With a new plan in tow, they leave to have the group outside stop fighting each other.

Returning to the Speaker's Chamber, Mavuika formally welcomes the Fatui into the alliance against the Abyss. She then asks Capitano how he knew about the Source Mechanism — he reveals that since they weren't getting to the Gnosis, he decided to look for alternate means with Ororon's help. They had tracked down three scholars; Aberewaa, Bosomtwe and Cuxtal, combining their research to locate it. Paimon then asks him how he knew about the Gnosis' power, and he reveals that after the situation in Khaenri'ah had become unsalvageable, he fled with the rest of his platoon to Natlan, which was suffering the same fate. He met with the Masters' chief, Ayizu, who treated him with respect even though many people blamed Khaenri'ah for the disaster. Thus, he resolved to protect Natlan and fought many battles with him, though when he died, he revealed the secret of the Gnosis to him. Mavuika is surprised that he had told Capitano of it, though she had refused all of his suggestions to use it even before the cataclysm. However, she fails to recognize Capitano and assumes the mask must be why.
Capitano states that despite his curse, his flesh still rotted and thus he would not be recognizable to her. Paimon then asks if he knew about Dainsleif, as he didn't appear to be having as much of an issue. Capitano is surprised to learn they know of him, so Paimon asks if he knew him too. He states that he only knew his name and that he was travelling with the Traveler's Sibling the last time he saw him in person, noting that his pain and hatred was much stronger than his own. Thus, as the Traveler was the sibling of Dainsleif's companion, he did not want to harm them. He also laments that apart from his physical appearance, his strength had also waned, though Mavuika states that he was still incredibly strong. Capitano states that if they had fought 500 years ago, the outcome could have been much more different. Regardless, he acknowledges that he failed to acquire the Gnosis, as he intended to use it to save Natlan and then, should it have not been destroyed in the attempt, give it to the Tsaritsa.
Mavuika tells him that her opinion on the matter would not change, so Paimon asks what would happen when all six heroes were united. She tells them that they would use a power that Xbalanque gained from Ronova, a god who predated the Archons and had power over death. Mavuika states that the Abyss would likely increase their attacks after sensing the change in Ororon.
The Traveler and Paimon leave the chamber to find Kachina and Mualani tending to various people. The Traveler notes that a sense of dread appears to be intensifying and wonders if they have enough time for the final hero to appear.
Returning to the Weary Inn once more for a short rest, Citlali and Xilonen meet up to visit Yohualtecuhtin. Yohualtecuhtin asks if they intend to give the Traveler an Ancient Name even though it would mean Xilonen would have to sacrifice her life for doing so, confirming to Citlali that what she heard about the forging of an Ancient Name consuming the life of the Name Engraver was indeed true. Meanwhile, Citlali intends to use the Traveler's status as a Descender to stall Mavuika's death, as it was what she foresaw in her ritual, though Yohualtecuhtin cautions that the fate of someone's death and death itself are actually two different things, and all the Traveler can affect is if Mavuika dies in the near future or not. Yohualtecuhtin tells them that she could not give them much advice on the matter, but is impressed by human determination and knew that their creator had looked on them favorably. Citlali also voices a desire to find a way to keep Yohualtecuhtin alive after Natlan has dealt with the Abyss, a sentiment that the Lord is grateful for but states that there's nothing they can do. In her view of the grand scheme of things, how much longer she lives is a non-issue, though the pair point out that is what makes humans different, and even if their end comes tomorrow, humanity will still do whatever it takes to survive today. Yohualtecuhtin creates the Pilgrim's Chronicle, a parchment that would record the Traveler's deeds in Natlan, both past and future.
Back at the inn, the Traveler and Paimon wake up from their rest and meet up with Citlali and Xilonen, who hand them the parchment. On examining it, Paimon spots that it has recorded that they previously helped Kachina win the Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame. The Traveler is somewhat concerned that the item came at a high price, but Citlali and Xilonen deflect the question by pointing out that Yohualtecuhtin was willing to sacrifice herself for Natlan and in comparison, the parchment cost nothing. Just then, Kachina runs in, telling them that the Abyss was attacking once again.

Heading outside the stadium, Mavuika orders Tumpis to inform the others about her battle plan against the Abyss, just as the group arrives and gets a rundown from her. The Abyss had sensed Ororon's acknowledgement and were increasing their attacks all over the nation, as even remote areas in the Collective of Plenty were reporting attacks. As such, they only needed to hold out for the last hero, so Mavuika sends Xilonen and Kachina to their tribe while Citlali would use a hot air balloon to return to her tribe. Mavuika tasks the Traveler and Paimon with handling various matters across the nation, granting them a hot air balloon for faster travelling.
After handling several matters, the Traveler returns to a checkpoint outside the stadium, repelling a massive Abyss attack. As the battle rages, a massive surge of energy envelops the Sacred Flame, causing numerous pylons to appear and drop off both normal and abyssal manifestations of hilichurls and riftwolves. Mavuika manages to subdue the rift briefly with the Gnosis, while the Natlanese and the Fatui fight the monsters. Kinich also heads out to investigate the rift.

Despite the efforts of the defenders, the Abyssal invasion slowly begins to overwhelm them. The Traveler and Paimon witness the horrors of war as they see the bodies of both humans and Saurians littering the battlefield, having sacrificed their lives to protect others. At a camp in the Sulfurous Veins, the Traveler assists the remaining defenders in repelling an attack. Regardless if the Traveler had helped out or not, Chimalli declares the base lost and allows the group to either support the Children of Echoes or retreat to the stadium. To his surprise, all of his soldiers wish to join in the fight, as to honor the sacrifices made by their allies. Just then, the Traveler spots a purple streak crashing to the ground, which Chimalli realizes had landed near the People of the Springs. The group parts ways, with the Traveler heading to investigate the crash site.
Arriving at the site, they discover that their attacks fail to deal any damage to the tumor. Worried that more monsters might come, Paimon tells the Traveler to look for anything of value. They find a battle report, though the situation is incredibly dire with casualties increasing as more tumors begin to fall across the nation. As they take a hot air balloon, Paimon becomes horrified with the amount of monsters roaming the wilds, and they soon see that the Scions of the Canopy had fallen to them. Continuing onward, Paimon has had enough of the war, though the Traveler is confident they would eventually prevail in the end.
They soon spot a group of people fighting several riftwolves and slay the monsters, allowing a brief moment of respite. Paimon wonders as to how they can destroy the tumors, while Maztla states that that they have no idea. He believes they came from the "sky-demon" from above and they generated massive amounts of pylons, overwhelming the defenders. Aware that they are on a losing battle, they decide the best course of action is to retreat to the stadium, where the Sacred Flame would repel the Abyss. The Traveler and Paimon head to the Children of Echoes to help with evac, finding Kachina and Xilonen fighting the monsters off. Pacal had ordered a full evacuation, and they and a few others had stayed behind to stop the monsters from pursuing them. They eliminate the monsters before leaving the village, where they reunite with the other group that had left earlier.
Kachina informs them that Kinich returned with news that the tumors had dropped all across the nation, while the Flower-Feather Clan was hit the hardest. Kinich had organized a team to provide support, while Paimon is worried about Chasca and Chuychu. Pacal states that it would only be a matter of time before the stadium would be unfeasible to defend, resulting in a bloodbath. The Traveler resolves to help out, while Xilonen, Kachina and Pacal bring the group to the stadium.
On the way, they find Chasca and Chuychu surrounded by a few monsters and eliminate them. Paimon then notices that Chuychu is unconscious and contaminated with abyssal energy. The Traveler siphons away the energy and purifies it which allows Chuychu to wake up, but despite their efforts to save her she ultimately succumbs to her injuries, but not before thanking Chasca and saying goodbye. Chasca flies into a rage, emitting abyssal energy for a brief moment, but left with Chuychu's final words of comfort finds the strength to calm herself. The Traveler and Paimon give her some space, but Paimon spots Chasca crouching over Chuychu as her Ancient Name appears. The bearer, Menilek, remarks on the pain Chasca was suffering, thus making her the final hero for Mavuika's plan. They bring her body to the stadium, with everyone present acknowledging her sacrifice. Mavuika promises to honor her and bring the war to an end now that all six heroes are assembled.
Heading to the center of the stadium, Mavuika and the six heroes begin the ritual to empower their Archon, who declares a Night Warden War with the Ode of Resurrection now applying to everyone in Natlan. The six are resolved to stomp the Abyss for good, while Chasca thanks the Traveler for coming in time, allowing Chuychu to say her final words and allowing her to control her grief. The group then sets out to destroy the tumors, with Mavuika's powers assisting in destroying them. As the defenders begin to repel the Abyss, Kinich senses that it's now sending larger units around the stadium in an attempt to extinguish the Sacred Flame. The group rushes back to defend the stadium, and as the last of the monsters are dealt with, Mavuika uses her powers to destroy the rift, much to the joy of the Natlanese. The sheer strength of her attack briefly exposes a "false sky," though no one appears to pay much attention to it.

With the battle over, the group assembles at the Weary Inn, where a celebratory feast is being held. Mavuika states that their efforts have forced the Abyss deep into the depths of the Night Kingdom, and she will go there alone to stamp out the remaining traces of Abyss, as the levels of Abyss energy would be instantly lethal on contact for anyone else. She promises to grant the fallen a worthy funeral, while Xilonen suggests giving a moment of silence for them. Mavuika then thanks Capitano for his efforts, who gives his congratulations on the Natlaneses' victory.
The Traveler speaks with Mavuika, who expresses regret for not being able to save Chuychu. Nonetheless, she asks if they would be willing to accompany her to the depths of the Night Kingdom, though the plan's details would be discussed tomorrow.
After resting for the night, they head to the Speaker's Chamber, during which Citlali intercepts them, telling them that despite their valiant efforts in defending the nation, Mavuika's use of Ronova's powers meant that she was still slated to die. Citlali asks them to try and circumvent her death by some means. Mavuika reminisces about her past before the Traveler arrives, and after learning of the Lord of the Night's gift, reveals her reasoning for requesting their aid: their resistance to the Abyss meant that the Traveler would be the only known person that could safely join her final assault, but only if their Ancient Name could be completed. She would go alone rather than risk the Traveler not having access to the Ode of Resurrection, but if they do become a true Ancient Name bearer, she would love to have them there to back her up. Unfortunately, this meant that Paimon would have to stay behind, as the Abyss could otherwise make her a target and put them into a dangerous situation.
Elsewhere, Capitano returns to Yohualtecuhtin, aware that Mavuika used Ronova's powers and thus will have to die for doing so. Yohualtecuhtin wonders how he was aware of it before realizing that the Ruler of Death had also sent him on a long journey. He has his own final foe to face, and asks for her help for the sake of the lost souls and Natlan's future.

- 皆の土地のために
In the aftermath of Abyssal invasion, the tribes of Natlan are busy handling the short-term effects. Paimon suggests to the Traveler that they visit the Flower-Feather Clan, since they had been hit the hardest. When they arrive, they find that Iansan and a group of people from the Collective of Plenty were already at work. While her tribe was spared from the brunt of the invasion, she decided to help out at the Flower-Feather Clan since they were hurt a lot more. She asks them to follow her, leading them to the chief, Mutota, who tells them that after the battle, they found several of their people in the wilderness, but they were suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder; Atoco, Cochitta and Ocotlan. He suspects that Gosoythoth was too powerful for them, explaining to Paimon that it was the Abyssal rift that appeared during the invasion, which was also known as the "Reaper of the Abyss."
Mutota had learned that there was a treatment hundreds of years ago, but its knowledge was lost in the present day. The Traveler offers to help and tries to purify the energy within them, but nothing happens. Iansan suggests moving them to a more comfortable environment in order to get them to loosen up while being under watchful eyes. The chief agrees with her suggestion and has the three moved away. They first visit Atoco, where he remarks on being cold. Iansan suggests building a bonfire for warmth, and through it they learn the name Duarte. They ask Izcalli about Duarte, who reveals that Duarte was Atoco's saurian companion who died four years ago during an abyssal attack. This prompts them to take on the appearance of a Qucusaurus and they return to Atoco as one. The plan appears to work before Atoco becomes suspicious, prompting the Traveler to slam him, putting him back to his senses. Upon learning the situation from them, Atoco apologizes for their efforts, while Iansan tells him that he needs to move on and accept Duarte's death.
The three then head to Cochitta and are unsure as to how to help her when Mutota arrives, having learned that Atoco's stress was handled. Upon learning of their plan, he tells her about her past — Cochitta also had a younger brother, and their parents died fighting the Abyss. While she resolved to become a warrior, she was still riddled with fear and doubt until the Abyss attacked one day, and she protected her brother from a monster. After that incident, she became a renowned fighter and the tribe was glad of her prowess, only for it to unravel during the invasion. Suddenly, Cochitta's brother, Cuallee, arrives with a toy weapon, demanding to know the location of the monster that hurt her. The Traveler convinces her to continue fighting, and she resolves to do so. Mutota tells them that a few monsters fled north after the battle, and while he sent a group to eliminate them, there could be a few stragglers lying about.
They discover a group of three riftwolves, and Cochitta kills them with the Traveler and Iansan's help. Doing so gives her the confidence she once had, and upon learning what had happened, apologizes to the two for the efforts they went to help her. While she and Cuallee share a moment, Iansan tells them that they can return to the tribe whenever they felt like it, having ensured that there would be no other monsters on the way back. Returning to the tribe, Ohtli and Itotia talk about the Traveler's assistance. They later meet up with Iansan, before they are informed that ocotlan is going out of control.
Ocotlan, believing the tribe is overrun (mistaking the people as Abyss monsters), attacks the group. He then tries to attack his father Munay, but Iansan and the Traveler subdue him. They are unsure as to how to cure him, as he doesn't even acknowledge them as people, only for Capitano to appear and tell them that he's suffering from Abyssal Corrosion Syndrome, which he deemed had "resurfaced" again. He states that while some people could be cured through verbal or physical interaction (as the case with Atoco and Cochitta), Ocotlan is entrenched deep in his hallucinations that medical intervention is the only cure, with the Draught of Lucidity being needed. He explains that it was only used for the most severe cases, as the patient would suffer from chronic migraines for the rest of their life. Munay allows the treatment, so Iansan gives him it. ocotlan returns to his normal self, explaining that he had a vision where the tribe was overrun with monsters. Munay tells him to relax and asks Capitano for his name, grateful for his help.
As Iansan takes Ocotlan away, Capitano gives her additional medicine for any other warriors who might need it. He then reveals that after he had fled from Khaenri'ah with his platoon to Natlan, he saw their struggle against the Abyss. Despite seeing the people as inexperienced, he found their resolve commendable and saw that they shared a common enemy. Paimon asks if he was also skilled in medicine, but Capitano states that Guthred was the one who had developed it, who was a respected military doctor and his second-in-command during the cataclysm. During their fight against the Abyss, several of his men tried to kill each other, prompting Guthred to fast-track the medicine's development by using himself as a test subject; he died shortly after it was completed. Capitano remarks that their goals are not aligned, revealing that the souls of the land are not at peace, and thus his work is not done either.
Capitano allows the Traveler to ask him a question, and the Traveler remarks about Mavuika's use of Ronova's power which would mean she was slated for death. The Traveler asks about Ronova, and Capitano tells them that she was responsible for both he and his peoples' suffering. He takes off his mask and reveals his true face to them, shocking both. He states that the Ruler of Death is able to freely interpret the form of death or grant immortality to any she desires, stating that before the final moment truly came, they had to fight harder than ever. Iansan then returns, informing the Traveler that a messenger from the Scions of the Canopy were looking for them, as Xilonen was able to begin progress on creating the Traveler's Ancient Name.
Returning to the Stadium of Sacred Flame, they find that Mualani, Kinich, Ajaw, Kachina, Citlali and Ororon were waiting for them. Ajaw scolds them for taking their time, only for Kinich to fling him away and tell them that they had only arrived. To the group's surprise, Chasca soon arrives, having heard of the Traveler's assistance to her tribe and thanks them for their help. Xilonen impressed with the turnout, as there were more people than she needed. She explains to them that they would need to talk about the Traveler's feats in front of the Pilgrim's Chronicle, while the Traveler would need to leave for the duration. Paimon follows them, but to her surprise, Xilonen comes for her too, as she was still their companion despite not hailing from Natlan. Some time passes before she calls the Traveler over, stating that Paimon had plenty of information to share. She returns the chronicle to them, stating that she would need it when the time came to forge the Ancient Name, and once she had done so, the war could finally end.

- 奥底の惨状
Mavuika requests the Traveler's presence; believing that their Ancient Name is ready to be forged, Paimon suggests taking a rest at the Weary Inn, wanting to be at their best when they receive it. As they fall asleep, the Traveler soon finds themselves in the Night Kingdom. Continuing on the path set to them, they wonder if the Night Kingdom would be healed once the Abyss was driven out for good. They soon find a wall of light, before finding several figures trying to get through it. Approaching the wall, they walk through it, noting that they were frozen when they did so and that the souls outside were in torment.
They soon discover Capitano and Guthred, though they do not appear to see her. Capitano tells his "soldiers" to continue pressing on, stating that he would fulfill his promise to bring them to the destined place. A noticeable rift also appears on his chest and the Traveler is brought back to reality, where Paimon asks if they were all right.

The Traveler and Paimon head to the Speaker's Chamber, where they find Mavuika alongside Xilonen and Citlali. They were discussing about the plan to enter the Night Kingdom, which Xilonen and Citlali assure that the Traveler's Ancient Name would be forged in time. Mavuika tells them that she intends to head to the deepest parts of the Night Kingdom in three days' time; if Xilonen could not forge the Ancient Name, she would have to go herself. Xilonen swears that she wouldn't fail her task and she leaves with Citlali, while Paimon is worried about leaving the Traveler, even if only for a brief moment. Mavuika suggests that they relax before the big day, despite the Traveler's insistence that they wanted to help out further. She reveals that she paints as a hobby, though her duties often prevented her from doing so.
As Mavuika heads into her room, the Traveler hears a knock on the door and tells them to enter. Kachina and Mualani arrive, telling the Traveler that they were extending an invitation to them for a huge feast before the big battle. The Traveler accepts, but then decides to have Mavuika attend it too, much to everyones' surprise. However, knowing that the Archon is also participating in the battle, they agree and extend the invitation to her, which she likewise accepts.
The group heads to the People of the Springs, where Kinich arrives with a delivery for Amina. Amina is worried about the deliveries, as the amount of supplies given were far too much for the party she had originally intended. Amina is surprised to see the Traveler, and even moreso when she spots the Archon. She reveals that the party was being set due to the Traveler's role in Natlan, and thus people were wanting to give their well-wishes for the upcoming battle. When Amina talks about how Atea would normally handle logistics, Paimon asks about her status. The group reveals that she had passed shortly after the attack on the tribe and mourned her passing. Mualani quickly perks the group back up, knowing that Atea would not want them to be upset and drags Kachina away. Mavuika then tells Atea that everyone was invited to attend, and any leftover supplies would be bought by the Speaker's Chamber to be redistributed as needed.
As the party kicks off, Iansan remarks about a dream she had about her Saurian companion, who perished during the battle against the Abyss. The others also join in on their memories, and the Traveler reveals that they dreamt of Capitano and many souls. Ororon believes that their case is a natural outlier compared to that provided by the divine throne, and reveals a ritual that could help them learn more about Capitano's future. Ororon looks into the vision and remarks about Guthred, stating that he was the one who tried to steal his body earlier. He also learned of another name, Thrain, a legendary Natlan hero, though they are not sure if Capitano is actually said hero. He also realizes that Guthred's soul had persisted for hundreds of years, something which would not normally be possible, and sensed an amalgamation of souls in Capitano's body. Mavuika suggests that he ask him directly, much to his surprise, but he agrees to do so. They return to the feast and conclude it.
The group departs on their own paths, while Kachina tells the Traveler that Xilonen is nearly finished with their Ancient Name. The Traveler accompanies her outside the Stadium, where she remarks how she brought them there and met Kinich and Mualani. Kachina thanks the Traveler for encouraging her and wishes to do the same for them. Later, they stop at an area where they first met Toto, though she remarks that he wouldn't be around the area for a while. Continuing further down the path, they encounter a Tepetlisaurus named Hanwi, who Kachina introduces as Ayo's mom. She is pacing back and forth, and when they ask her what's wrong, she darts off, prompting them to follow her. They soon find Ayo and discover that he's still despondent due to the deaths of his grandparents, not even recognizing Kachina's steak. The Traveler believes that he could be suffering from Abyssal Corrosion Syndrome and decides to administer some medicine to him, perking him back up to normal. Kachina, Hanwi and Anpao thank the Traveler.
Arriving at the Statue of the Seven, Kachina offers them an invitation for a meal if they choose to as she leaves. The Traveler and Paimon head to Xilonen's workshop, where they find Citlali. Citlali knew they had gone for the feast and tells them that despite several headaches, Xilonen was able to create the Ancient Name. Right on time, she arrives with it, revealing its name as "Tumaini," or hope. While the Ancient Name forging was simple, Xilonen points out that they need to test it to make sure it works, as it was the first time in Natlan's history that an outlander was given an Ancient Name. Xilonen brings them to a barbecue restaurant, while also pointing out that it has top-tier alcohol, gaining Citlali's interest. After dinner, Citlali reveals to the Traveler that she is worried about their and Mavuika's safety. They head to the Sulfurous Veins and conduct the test there. Citlali notes everything is fine with the Traveler's resonance while Paimon spots many souls emerging. Citlali states that it was normal, but retracts that statement as she notices more souls than usual.
Citlali has Xilonen stop the test and explains that the Traveler's soul was so powerful that it attracted everything nearby, including souls that could not enter the Night Kingdom, left it, or not even from Natlan. Not all of the souls would return to the Ley Lines and would simply be forgotten, so the group decides to save as many as they can. They approach one soul, discovering it was Vichama. Vichama thanks Citlali for using the Spiritseeker Stone and revealed how he died during the battle, though upset he was rejected by the Night Kingdom. Citlali promises to bring him there, as he deserved it as a hero. Citlali successfully sends him to the Night Kingdom, and Vichama thanks them, hoping that everyone would be safe as his final wish.
Citlali tries her best to save as many souls as possible, eventually reaching Zumalli; however, as she moves in to do so, the Abyss corrupts him, prompting Xilonen to kill him as sending him to the Night Kingdom wouldn't help, much to Citlali's disappointment. They soon discover two Teptlisaurus souls, Hnaska and Cetan. Ayo suddenly appears, delighted to see his grandparents again. Citlali tries to send the souls back to the Night Kingdom, but they refuse, wanting to stay with Ayo to the very end. She reluctantly respects their decision, and the Traveler explains what they saw in their own dream. Citlali is surprised that Khaenri'ahns would be in the Night Kingdom, but decide to look into that later. Xilonen tells them to give their Ancient Name to Mavuika when they return to the Stadium, so she could explain its name and meaning to the people.
- 星と炎の旅路
Arriving at the Stadium, the Traveler is greeted by the Natlanese. When they reach the center, they reveal their Ancient Name, to the surprise of many. Mavuika asks them to come up to her, and she reveals the name to them, who are grateful that the war would finally be over. Mavuika rouses the crowd with a rallying speech, teleporting herself and the Traveler into the Night Kingdom to end the threat for good.
They arrive at a small "pit stop" to gather their bearings and talk to the chiefs and friends from the tribes, who wish them luck on their battle. Before they leave, Mavuika tells them they needed to split up — much like the tumors during the invasion, the enemy had a core of similar functionality. She would find and destroy the core, while the Traveler would head to the lair. Before they leave, Paimon reminds them of her support and that they aren't alone; by the time they left, Mavuika had already ventured deep into the Night Kingdom. After defeating an Cryo-aligned herald, Mavuika senses a familiar presence, revealed to be her sister, Hine, who promises to support her.
Elsewhere, the Traveler approaches a pylon guarded by riftwolves, only for a group of Natlanese led by Atea to emerge and assist them in eliminating it. The Traveler tells Atea that the square behind them could allow her to talk to Mualani again, though Atea is content enough to having met each other in a dream. She and the others remain behind to ensure the corrosion wouldn't reach the square, as doing so would mean that the Abyss could surge back into Natlan again. As they proceed past the gate, they encounter the same suffocating fog as before a barrier emerges to protect them. The barrier is maintained by Mallko and Vichama, who were happy to fight together again and assist the Traveler in navigating the perilous terrain.
During a fight against several Tenebrous Mimesis, Bona and Cocouik arrive to assist the Traveler and Vichama. Venturing deeper inside, they encounter a stronger mimesis, but Guthred appears and allows them to dispatch of it with ease. Bona realizes that Guthred is not from Natlan, but Guthred states that he was a story created by the Masters of the Night-Wind, thus allowing him to manifest. Eventually, the spirits reach their limit due to the Ley Lines, but encourage the Traveler to finish the enemy for the good of all people. They soon discover the path before them is destroyed and wonder how they could get through, only for Chuychu and a qucusaur to appear. Like Atea, Chuychu had visited Chasca in her dreams and is content with how fast she matured. Chuychu gives them an iktomisaurus and qucusaur to allow them to reach their destination, and they arrive at a circular arena, where the heroes 500 years ago emerge to bless the Traveler. Yohualtecuhtin sends several seelies to guide the Traveler to Mavuika.
- 皆の願いを背負って
The Traveler arrives to find Mavuika fighting Gosoythoth and arrive on the scene, avoiding all of its attempts to stop them in their tracks. Believing they wish for the agony of death, Gosoythoth transforms into a massive, sword-wielding dragon. Yohualtecuhtin grants the Traveler the power of 炎 in response. During the battle, Gosoythoth uses a power to control the Traveler, while Mavuika is thrown into a realm where the void tries to sow doubt in her. These attempts fail, and Mavuika declares that her fate is to end the war once and for all. Back in Teyvat, the Sacred Flame extinguishes, to everyone's horror, but Kachina manages to perk the crowd back up and strengthen them.
With the newfound support, Mavuika and the Traveler destroy Gosoythoth for good, returning to Teyvat.

Mavuika holds a celebration ceremony to commemorate the Traveler's deeds in saving Natlan, with many Natlanese watching. Chasca bestows a feathered crown on the Traveler as they partake in the festivities, signing autographs and taking pictures with the people. At the end of the festival, Citlali arrives and tells the Traveler to follow her. She explains that despite their act, Mavuika is still slated to die. As she went to help restore the Night Kingdom, they need to figure out where they could connect to Yohualtecuhtin, and deduce that the fallen city of Ochkanatlan would be their best bet. When they arrive, they find a massive rift with several eyes looking down on Teyvat, which Citlali believes is the Ruler of Death keeping an eye on Teyvat.
Ronova states that she has no interest in Teyvat, but as the price for using her powers, declares her death as payment. Mavuika states that the Lord of the Night is still weak, and the Abyss could still pose a threat in the future. As such, by placing her life in the Sacred Flame once more. She avoids their questions about her own interests, even though the Traveler desire to have her partake in the future she created. As Ronova orders Yohualtecuhtin to kill Mavuika, she notices her pause and asks why. Yohualtecuhtin states that another approaches to take her place and must wait for them to arrive, much to Ronova's irritation.
Ororon arrives with Capitano, who knows that Mavuika should share in the future she made for her people; as for him, he had been longing for death to open the gates of the Ley Lines for his people. He reveals that his heart was modified to contain the memories and souls from the Ley Lines into knowledge, and over the years, accumulated many souls. As such, by merging his existence with the Lord of the Night, he could give them the peace they desired. Capitano wishes to get revenge on Ronova for her curse, as he, like many other Khaenri'ahns, were innocent from the atrocities committed by the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah. Due to the immortality granted to him by her, it would create a paradox that not even she could resolve.
Capitano tells Ronova to either forsake her rules or create a paradox, and the shade seemingly picks the latter, stating that the curse must still stand. Thus, Capitano fuses his life force with Yohualtecuhtin, preventing her from dying. Yohualtecuhtin expresses regret for not valuing human life now that she can live forever and returns to the Night Kingdom. Mavuika realizes that Capitano was right as Natlan still needed a leader, and the five pay their respects to him before leaving. Back at the Speaker's Chamber, Mavuika writes a letter for Hine and burns it to "send" it to her, stating how Natlan is now in peace. To pay their respects to the fallen, the Traveler leaves behind the crown that they were given earlier.
Returning to the stadium, they find Sadigua telling a story to several children, one that talks about their recent acts. He notices the Traveler but does not call them, instead focusing on his story and finishes it. Seeing that they are now celebrated as a hero in Natlan, the Traveler and Paimon leave to continue their adventures.
