I just wanna remind people once again that leaks are strictly prohibited in this wiki. and it's surprising that many regulars here are casually dropping leaks in the last few days.

We've been seeing many "X character will be voiced in the new event!!!" replies and comments lately when there's NO legit way you can know that other than datamined information, which are considered leaks if they haven't been released yet.

It is reasonable to guess which character will appear in the event quests but whether they will be voiced or not is a LEAKED INFORMATION unless they already appear in the released event quest.

Leaks are straight to warning, block if you already did it. We wouldn't want you to get warned or blocked for being impatient 👀

So please, refrain from sharing anything if you don't know the official source. If you say "I heard....", you are most like hearing it from leakers.

Please stop reporting posts for not covering spoilers, we will NOT take any action.

It is fine if you want to hide your spoilers, but we will not punish people for not covering theirs. The purpose of this wiki is to add new information as soon as possible and to be a place where people can discuss the newest content.

A while ago, we have updated the Discussions Guidelines. The update has been officially integrated into the Discussions section of the Community Rules today!

We have been giving out notice and warnings for the updated rules. But without having them in the Community Rules, we have been holding back on giving the appropriate consequences.

Therefore, the rules are now 1000% official with their addition to the Community Rules. Here is the summary of the update:

1. Added sections of OC rules, AI-Generated Content, and Fan Creations (more about Fan Creation down below).

2. More description to the "Shipping" section and "Personal Information" section

3. Added new section "Impersonation and Mini-Modding"

4. Added new section "Removing Notice, Warning, and Block Messages". You are no longer allowed to delete any moderator message regarding Notice, Warning, or Block. Continuous act will result in another Warning or block.

5. Expanded some parts and fixed grammar mistakes.

As for the category update, some of you may have noticed that the Discussions categories have been updated!

• Genshin Media is now renamed to "Genshin Media and Screenshots". Along with official game medias, game screenshots now also belong in this category

• Editing Discussions is now renamed to "Wiki Editing Discussions". Some of you are mistaking the "Editing" part as "art edits" when the category is intended for wiki editing related questions 😂 So adding "Wiki" will make it clearer

• Fan Art and Fan Fiction category have been merged into "Fan Creation". After some consideration, we thought that having 2 separate fan categories is quite redundant and "Fan Creation" is much more inclusive to many kinds of art. All kinds of fan work belongs here, such as: OCs and AUs, fan art, music, cosplays, etc. Don't forget to source your fan art if it isn't yours, art used in polls included! (And you can visit the Fanon Wiki too to share your OCs/AUs more freely)

• A new category, "Wiki Announcements", has been created. Important wiki announcement (like this post) and casual notice post from wiki staff belongs here. Only wiki staff are allowed to use this category. Any post not from a wiki staff will be moved.

Please take your time to review each of the rules and ask any question here. To avoid the chaos in the previous post, any attempt to start a drama, argument, or hostile debate will be deleted right away and we might issue the person a warning.

No, we will not ever remove the "no off-topic" rule and our rule against posting Genshin characters in other games not affiliated with Hoyoverse. So, please don't waste your time on challenging that rule.

As always, we are inviting everyone to report any violation found in the wiki using the report function, or feel free to tag any of the wiki staff so we can take a look at it.

Hoyo almost never revealed any character's concept art. You're not supposed to ever see them through any official and legal way.

Any mentions of Emilie's concept art, referring to it, or sharing any edits/fanarts based on the leaked concept arts are not allowed. It will be deleted and you will get a warning. If you already got a warning for leaks before, you may get blocked.

Please be mindful of what you share and please report any comments mentioning it.

Trends are quite chaotic in general. Other past trends may be problematic or inviting many arguments. But this time, there's nothing wrong with this. It is on topic and this is just another spin of usual polls asking your favourite character, which are allowed.

All we're asking for you is that, please don't get too carried away. Trends like this will always flood the discussions and drown the other topics or people looking for help.

If you want to join this trend, we would appreciate it if you only post it once a day or few days (or even only once for the whole duration of this trend, a lot of people would appreciate it). We've updated the Discussions Guidelines. We have been expanding them to be more informative as well adding some new rules. We also have been giving out warnings and notices for the new rules before we officially put them in the guidelines

Please take your time to review each of it here. And please also read the Community Rules for the general rules of this wiki.

Here are the highlights of the newly added rules:

• From now on, you are no longer allowed to delete Warnings and Notices issued by a moderator or admin in message wall **for any reason**. This rule will apply for all Warning, Notice, and Block messages issued after this announcement.

We can see deleted message. Deleting warnings or notices will not remove your violation record.

We believe that deleting a warning can be seen as disregarding a warning, which is not something that should be encouraged. And we also want people to remember their violation, not to delete them out of sight.

Starting now, if anyone is caught deleting their Warning/Notice, they will be given another warning and the deleted warning will be undeleted (yes, we can do that too). If this continues, you may get a block.

• Original Characters (OCs) must be categorized under fan-fiction. Since OC are actually off-topic (which is against our rules), we will only keep high-quality OC posts with long and proper description. We still recommend you to use the fanon wiki to share your OCs

• When sharing any fan art that isn't yours, it must be sourced or credited either by name or link to the artist's original post/account (Twitter, Instagram, etc). Pinterest, Google, or "credit to the artist/ctta" is NOT a source!

• Necroposting (replying to a post older than a month) and flooding the discussions are now official rule! It is recommended to only post once in few hours to avoid flooding the Discussions.

• Please practice online safety, especially if you're a minor. This is a public site, people of all ages -including adults- can see you. Face reveals, full body reveals (such as mirror selfie), room reveal, full name reveal, and any kind of identifying information reveal are now prohibited.

We also invite everyone to report any violation found in the wiki using the report function, or feel free to tag any of the wiki staff so we can take a look at it :D

TL;DR: No more deleting notice/warning/block in message wall, only high-quality OC posts are allowed, properly source/credit fan arts, no necroposting, no flooding the discussions.

If you want to create and share your OC, we are encouraging you to use the fanon wiki.

Since the Discussions space are being flooded by OC posts recently and many other posts of other topics and game questions are getting buried, we decided to do this:

1. We will delete any OC that is non-Genshin related or barely related to Genshin. This falls under our rule against off-topic posts.

2. Random polls such as "Which element should my OC be?" or "What nation should I pick for my OC?" and similar questions will be deleted right away. We're seeing many polls like that lately and it is spamming the Discussions, most of them doesn't have any proper description either. It can also be considered as off-topic and low-effort because it's not related to the game itself.

3. We will only keep Genshin OC sharing posts with proper description (Like backstory, custom voice-overs, introduction, etc). Description should at least shown an effort was made into it. Posts with no description or minimal amount of description will be deleted as it is considered as low-effort

If we are being strict, our "no off-topic" rule means that you can only discuss about the game and since OCs aren't related to the game, it shouldn't be allowed. But we're being flexible to encourage community building and promote friendly interaction between users.

Also please don't make a post just to share link to your OC in fanon wiki. We will also delete that immediately. We will keep it if you include it in a proper post of your OC though (refer to the third point), posts with only the link and nothing else will be removed.

Henlo. I stepped down as the wiki's Bureaucrat a day or so ago.

The Genshin wiki has been a big part of my life for almost three years! It's been great and I loved being able to help when I can, but moderating really takes so much of myself and my time that it no longer fit in the schedule and mental state that I want for myself. So I stepped down because I would like to focus on myself and other things in my life.

I only really post when I'm stepping in as a mod, but Discussions and its users has a special place in my heart. I sincerely hope that I was able to help build a good and better community for everyone.

It seems like fan fiction is in a weird spot because by nature they are kinda off-topic? Then to make way for creativity, they can also get exempted in other rules - like shipping and violence.🤔

Since the mod team is also a group of volunteers, we might not always have the time to read through them and things can slip through very easily. We probably rely a lot on reports instead, but I don't think that's always done.

As users who frequent discussions more, I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts on it! Do you think Discussions is good place to host fan fiction? Should we be limiting what kind of content is allowed? Is everything okay as-is?

We are no longer locking comments in the article pages of upcoming playable characters, making it easier for the community to discuss them!

We used to lock comments in these pages to prevent leaks, but we don't believe this to be necessary anymore. (However, if it gets out of hand, we may temporarily lock the page again.)

We will try our best to be on top of all comments. But if you spot any that might be leaky, please report it to let moderators know. Thank you so much!
