Is no one else bothered by the Angry Bird on his shoulder?
There comes a point when new characters will not do much for your account, as you simply can't adequately play. much less invest in, all the characters you have. That point comes much faster than most people start scaling back the number of different characters they're pulling for. (The time it takes to farm good artifacts for just one character is obscene).
Vertical investment makes a lot of sense once you reach that point, even if it is just improving something they already do. Make the characters you do play better rather than getting more characters you'll never finish properly gearing.
And yes, it even makes sense as f2p. If you like the characters you do have (and you have enough characters), spend your resources on them.
(The first thing I did when I reached that point was limiting myself to pulling characters when I could also pull their weapon, unless their f2p weapon options were good enough that pulling for their weapon didn't make any sense. Then i started collecting key constellations. Ayaka C4, Raiden C2, Kazuha C2, Nahida C2, Neuvillette C1, Furina C1 and hoping on C2 this patch).
And I'm done on new characters until Snezhnaya. All my pulls are going to cons for Xilonen, Mavuika, Citlali, maybe Clorinde if she reruns again. (And I'll consider more Neuvillette cons).
"What does this mean ?"
Most people when they talk about f2p teams with a premium dps are looking for an otherwise 4* team.
I mean, if you have Furina, Arlecchino, and Nahida, i'd say you're doing pretty well...
The right answer is almost always Bennett. (Although we might want to replace Nahida, too, not exactly the best team for her).
The most F2P team I found with just a little casual searching was Arle, Fischl, Chevreuse, Bennett. But you're not quite that f2p, as you have Furina.
An Arle-Furina team I found was Arlecchino, Furina, Xilonen, Bennett. Assuming you don't have Xilonen, there's several characters we could put in that spot. Any anemo character would work, although Kazuha > Sucrose > rest. A second hydro character could work, like Xingqiu.
Oh, no, i've mostly been ignoring reputation. I got bored doing the repeatables back in Sumeru...
I have no idea. Stuff goes into my bag that i surprise myself finding later.
And there's so much crap in the story item tab at this point, I can't actually find anything reliably.
Last time i stopped by Capitano it wouldn't let me do anything. It's been awhile, i guess i should stop back and see if he'll talk to me.
FTraveler is like Mavuika light. (I guess it should be PTrav for pyro, but using F for Fire means there'll be A_CDEFGH travelers. I find that funny, at least.
Tap E: AoE Pyro damage around active character while nightsoul points last
Hold E: AoE Pyro damage + Pyro damage whenever active character attacks, using Traveler's ATK. (Note that since it specifies Traveler ATK, this may work like Shenhe's quills and use the active characters crit stats - i have not tested).
Q: Pyro AoE Nuke that also restores nightsoul points.
So off-field pyro + a meltable nuke. Same as Mavuika's kit with a little squinting (and no motorcycle).
The relevant passive provides energy when in a party with other nightsoul characters, basically.
Unfortunately, all the constellations only apply during the one boss battle...
Well, FTrav is probably the best traveler currently. I don't think building that one would be a problem at all.
I think ATrav is potentially quite interesting, because different element priorities than most Anemo characters. But the burst sucks, and the skill isn't good enough at grouping to have seen use even when Freeze teams were good (which is one of the team ATrav's element priority is best for). However, with the current melt meta, being able to swirl cryo instead of pyro when both are available could be worthwhile.
ATrav wants either Freedom-Sworn (if you have it) or Sac Blade (best 4*) w/ 4pc VV
GTrav has a lot of 5* weapons that work on him (Chiori's is the best). Best 4* is Wolf-Fang, followed by a 4-way tie with Festering Desire, the pipe, Amenoma Kageuchi, and Finale of the Deep. Best artifact sets are Whispers = GT (both 4pc)
ETrav wants Fav + NO 4pc > EoSF 4pc
DTrav wants either Freedom-Sworn or Fav w/ Deepwood, but NO 4pc is okay (especially if someone else is using Deepwood).
FTrav wants Fav + 4pc Hero of CC
So the first thing I'd do is get an R5 level 90 Fav. Start building out the ones who want that. (ie, DEF Trav, 2 of whom are also good with 4pc NO). Go from there.
Friends don't let friends play HTrav.
Maybe Paimon is the deaths we suffered while she wouldn't shup up... along the way
Pyro traveler might be worth building. The rest.. not so much.
What does your character roster look like?
Also, only use primogems on the limited banner, and only for a character you actually want.
Any acquaint fates you get can be used on the standard banner freely. (Blue, ball with star details). Just don't spend primogems there.
"Does xiangling work with deepwood for the dendro res?"
Well, as long as we're using her just for pyro application and support...
--Fav Lance is a must. Will help with the energy issues
--Will still need a ton of ER on gear. like 100ish just on artifacts, even with the Fav particle generation (which she'll have to catch - always drop Guoba before bursting). On the upside, literally the only stats you actually care about are ER and CR (for Fav) for this use, so ER sands, CR hat, lots of substats.
--I hope you have C4.
It's not that bad, but it will require a very specific artifact setup.
Tighnari and Keqing are not that good right now. Dendro teams have fallen off, and both of them are best used for worse versions of dendro teams than the better comparable characters. So neither character is meta at all right now.
Diluc (with Xianyun) is really the only for-sure competition for top spot besides mona. They're the only two that are really meta-capable at the moment. (And when i say meta-capable, it's the weaker end of meta, but it's still meta).
Mona is definitely better than Dehya or Jean right now.
Mizuki is the only question mark, i don't know where to place her, tbh.
And I'm not discounting her flaws. Her limited buff window is why she's mostly good for the current nuke meta. Mavuika and Mualani don't care that her buff window is small when most of their damage is loaded into their burst.
Dehya might have more use cases, but those use cases are still kinda marginal. Mona has much better use cases right now.
I mean, Dehya is literally the middle of the pack, here. The competition is not fierce.
Oh right, I don't have a playable Obsidian Codex set yet, so i always forget what it's bonus is... If it provides 40% CR... then yeah, keep a CD circlet...
(The Codex pieces I've gotten are so laughably bad).
"I'm curious... why Mona?"
Is actually pretty versatile. Works well with the current 'nuke' meta, especially Mavuika (if you don't have Citlali, or potentially even if you do). But she's great with Mualani too. She's pretty good with Arlecchino. She can run good support weapons and artifacts.
And that's really enough to be the top of the standard banner characters.
Circlet actually looks pretty decent to me. Goblet needs swapping (but hp% mainstat is okay, just needs better substats.
Weapon -> 90 (easy)
Level -> 80/90
Upgrade goblet
Talents -> x/9/9 (or 10/10 if you want to crown her)
Level -> 90
Furina
Top priority: get Furina a level 90 weapon.
2nd priority: HP% or ER sands.
3rd priority: Furina needs more ER, generally.
4th priority: more crit stats on Furina. Every artifact should have both crit stats on it.
ER (till you can reliably burst each rotation) > Crit = HP% > rest
Note: HP% ~= Hydro goblet for her, so if you have a better hp% goblet...
Kinich
Flower desperately needs an upgrade, and feather isn't amazing.
Circlet isn't great.
Goblet is decent. Sands is decent. Both could potentially be upgraded, but are fine for now.
May need more ER.
(I assume you're using him with a shielder, given Serpent Spine).
