Very nice area overall, although I wish it was bigger. Can only hope they’re pulling resources to make a properly Russia-sized Snezhnaya.
SPOILERS FOR NEW WORLD QUESTS BELOW!!!
And with a new area, we get new World Quests!!!! The main one with Illuga was fine, but it didn’t particularly stand out to me. Piramida turned out to be a gun, apparently, and if I’m being honest, I’m a sucker for hidden-in-plain-sight giant guns. So that was cool.
The real all-stars turned out to be a few of the shorter World Quests, 2 in particular. The first was the fallout bunker one. (No I have not played fallout, everything I know comes from the magic set) That was actually insane, and they managed to make not having weapons feel like an unnecessary difficulty spike, and getting to run around with just Lumine in her new skin was pretty fun. The lore wasn’t anything super eye-opening, but the overall atmosphere and writing made it a quest unlike any other. And the OST from the little boss at the end was INSANE!!!!! Wish I knew what it was called so I could listen to it later.
The second quest that stood out to me was the Amsvartinir quest. First off, the area is just beautiful.
Second, the lore from the readables at the top is ACTUALLY INSANE!!! If I interpreted this correctly, there was an Angel who was trapped here after the War of Funerary Flame. And not just any Angel, but THE FIRST ANGEL HERSELF!!!!!!!! AND, it turns out she met BOREAS here, who kept her company until he left for Mondstat. So apparently the First Angel knew Boreas. Didn’t see that one coming. Also the OST here is leak as well. Nailed that “Holy Place” vibe.
As for the AQ, I’ll be posting my rant in a few weeks (Spoiler, I will be glazing Sandrone to Celestia and back). All I’ll say, is that Nod-Krai has surpassed Fontaine in terms of AQ, making it my favorite ever.
