^^ I don't mean it rudely or anything, but... being kind doesn't really make a character less interesting? We have a lot of characters that both have a complicated set of desires (be it lore, personality, internal struggles) and are still friendly with the Traveler or anyone else.
Nope. An in-game reason for why we have different characters is that they aid us (as friends) in exploring Tevyat, so unless we do some unique mental gymnastics, I doubt they'll become playable. Even though, I wouldn't want someone like Azar or Dottore on my team, or even playable, ever.

The chef girl is probably Fontainian, judging by the hat (one of the requirements to be a Fontainian is to have a hat; Neuvilette only gets the pass since he's the ludex, trust me) and the little ribbons on her shoes. As for the catboy, most of the fandom think he's the teased Dahlia, since his cape crosses.

As much as I do agree that his model is pretty suitable for a playable character, his colour scheme rather isn't. Hoyo tends to focus on them a lot in character designs (for the better, ofc), and his isn't fitting any theme + the pants really do feel out of place.
