Hmm, after some thinking, I think the elemental association is indirectly influenced by the culture they inspired. Now yes you are right, countries like China, France, Japan, Germany, etc, their music don't give any explicit elemental theme vibes. It's neutral.

But when it comes to Sumeru and Natlan I think it's a bit different. Some cultures are more associated with their environment than the others. So like in Sumeru when we hear the Indian traditional music we think of forest cuz of India's lush and tropical based environment. In Natlan, some of it's music are African based and Africa is known for it's natural environment hence it feels nature themed. Hydro tribe from Natlan is culturally based on Hawaii or Polynesian culture which are mostly associated with the sea/beach so it's obvious where the water theme comes from.

What Im focusing is that Natlan's music are "Dendro leaning" since the soundtrack is a stereotypical jungle/forest theme. The other nations music aren't leaning to any of the elements, it doesn't give any vibes EXCEPT the country that they are based on. So elemental wise, they are neutral.

I do partially agree about that desert part it isn't really "Dendro" themed, however, Sumeru also has it's forest theme, mostly the Indian based one, and that is the major region, not the desert one. Now, most Natlan music is kind of jungle/forest theme, maybe because of it's association to Africa which is known for it's Nature. Furthermore, the Hydro tribe music is actually culturally inspired but because the culture that they take is stereotypically beach and sea themed like Hawaii, etc, it does leans to Hydro element.

I'm not gonna read all of this argument since I'm not in it, but the point of this post is that I'm just showing that this 2 things (Fire/energy, and war) could be a reason that a nation is advanced.

So my stance is neutral whether it make sense for Natlan to be advanced or not because there are other reasons to be taken into consideration not just this 2, which is exactly what people are debating.

Yeah, I think Natlan would make much more sense if they merge the tribal aesthetic with technology rather than separating it but co-existing. What I mean is that they are not so advanced in other things, but very advanced in other things.

I think logically speaking, there is no reason for Natlan people to only limit their technology for war, there are some principles in war related technology that can be used in non war things.

For example, if they use vehicles for war, then, they are supposed to be able to make vehicles for transportation purpose in non-war related thing.

They should also improve their infrastructure for defense.

And start to mass produce other devices for other people, like ranged weapons and phlogiston jetpack.

The only thing make sense is Natlan's element, there are jetpacks and bike in Natlan and those are actually, and realistically associated with Pyro, combustion engines, which is why they can spit out fire.

Nor the least advanced, I think Natlan could be advanced than average but lower than that of Fontaine and Snezhnaya

It could fly, shoot things, etc, maybe it can be used anywhere but at its peak you must use it in Natlan.

Let's hope that Mavuika's motorcycle have sophisticated features that differ from real-life motorcycles, a more advanced one, I mean the appearance already look different, judging by that maybe it can do lot of advanced things. Let's wait until her gameplay teaser.

@AlmostSerious yeah pretty much like it, they are complaining because this modern technology is too realistic. But, there are cameras? So I don't know why are they complaining

I'll change this comment too, yeah if the technology is advanced but unrealistic/unpractical like what Kachina and Chasca own, they wouldn't complain that much, but I don't have a problem personally.

I have erased the original comment in this comment, I change my mind I think the reason why people complain is not "too modern" rather, it's "too realistic AND modern" maybe. regardless, I think motorcycle shouldn't be a problem

Im saying that maybe the devs want realistic technologies that use fire to make fire more significant instead of relying more on fantasy. Which is why they add such technologies that are too realistic.

@IALDABAOTH1 yeah but what Im saying is the uses of fire is more apparent in a more technologically advanced society rather than the lesser one, this is because most of fire uses is technological, their technological importance is far greater than their natural importance, unlike water, air, and other elements, in which they have both natural and technological importance albeit their natural importance is a bit more.

It's the reason why barely have any animals use fire because animals don't need technology unlike humans. But almost all living things need water, air, soil (earth) cuz they are naturally important especially water. So it's easier to make fire more apparent and significant in technologically advanced society than in a society that have lower technological advancement.

Cannot say a "fire-based nation" yet they only use fire for simpler things like cooking, lighting, traditional forging, or like I said, symbolic uses that have no practicalities or real functionality such as worship like you mentioned. This all are simple uses of fire which does not make it special from other nation, if you want to make fire significant with real life parallel, you have to make its uses more advanced, or you choose the fantasy way.

Why do we need a car? I mean, in this fantasy game technology is very inconsistent, there are robots but no commercial airplanes.
