Varesa

I imported my Varesa into Akasha out of curiosity having used her in abyss and was pleasantly surprised to see her as high as top 25%! She's not my highest ranked build by far (top 3% Wanderer) but considering I haven't really min-maxed and she got whatever pieces were left after Kinich I'm pretty happy with it.

Yes I know she overcaps on crit here but that's because she borrowed Wanderer's weapon for abyss since I didn't want to deal with Widsith RNG.

Teams I used on floor 12:

Varesa/Chevreuse (C6)/Iansan/Xiangling (C6)

Neuvillette/Furina(C1)/Escoffier/Citlali

On the subject of that event I find it very funny that they made a whole event out of the way she chucked Childe through a portal in the Fontaine AQ 🤣

What do i do

Not sure if just massive skill issue or bad builds, but I'm hitting a wall. This is my best AFTER a lot of retries. The big issues is the 2nd half (1st one isn't exactly amazing with only ~9k points, but theoretically good enough).

Meanwhile I got trial Kinich Platinum on the first try. How's everybody else fairing on the Varesa round?

Well, last time I soldiered through Citlali's chronicle quest and it was awful, but today's one (aka Varesa's)? I loved it! Lighthearted, but not annoying (I tend to prefer more serious quests most of the time). This one really hit the spot + Varesa is so cute! And it was nice to get an explanation about the Chasm stuff.

This was such a cleansing experience after Citlali!

I think the only disappointing part is that it was a purely Varesa oriented quest, meaning Iansan is sort of... quest-less?

Aaaand... now I have to do Escoffier's story quest, before I'm able to do the event. Well, at least these are the conditions I set for myself before I do it.

And honestly... I don't know what to think about it - or rather, what to expect. My opinion on Escoffier so far is pretty neutral, and I feel like it could go both ways once I'm doing the story.

And none of my friends did it yet, so they can't tell me if it's something I should like or not.

Oh well, I guess I'll know tomorrow.

I think I’m MOSTLY done with them, I probably won’t take Iansan to 90 since that’s a lot of xp books and mora

Now that they've all been revealed, Whom did you liked more?

• Iansan: Not dissapointed that she's a 4-star, but her gameplay didn't satisfy me, I was hoping a bit more.

• Dahlia: He looks good so far, I expect much from him, but wether I pull or not is yet to be determined.

• Ifa: Honestly, design wise fulfilled all my expectations, but his gameplay mechanics dissapointed me, I was hoping more than a hit on enemies heal.

• Skirk: I can only hope this begins the era of 8 elements Teyvat, maybe Nod-Krai would be Traveler unlocking the new element and Dainleif once and for f*cking all be released in 6.x.

• Yumemizuki Mizuki: Beautiful design, beautiful voice, and a gameplay worth a standard.

• Varesa: Surprised me for good, I wish I could have gotten her since her gameplay was fun and her exploration was neat.

• Escoffier: I love the having a chef character in the game, her kit seems fun to have, and her passive was so fitting.

What's your impresion?

Just have to level her and her talents and then find her a better Electro damage goblet since the current one sucks (and then I have to level Iansan but that’s a whole other thing, Iansan is stuck at lvl 70 for now)

(Data from Paimon.moe) Now that Varesa’s banner is over, we can get a clearer look at how many people got her - and it turns out the answer is “less people than any other Natlan character, and even Emilie”. She’s a strong character who had amazing four stars on her banner, but she really didn’t seem to be that popular.

If you compare her to other Natlan characters, the difference is really stark:

Every other Natlan five-star has had over 100,00 summons. So far, I’ve come up with several reasons that could explain why Varesa was less popular:

• Xilonen is rerunning right after her - many people want to save since she’s such a great universal support

• People dislike her design, animations, or characterization (though if that’s the case, I’m surprised Chasca got so many summons, imo her design is one of the ugliest in Natlan). I’m not a huge fan of Varesa’s design but I do appreciate hoyo trying for more diversity in body types, I hope Varesa’s failure doesn’t discourage them from that

• Varesa didn’t feel “strong” enough (she feels a bit meh to me but she’s not fully leveled yet, she definitely doesn’t feel weak though)

• Her team building is more limited to overload or hypercarry with specific five stars, with aggravate not being as good, though Kinich’s kit literally locks him into burning/burgeon and he got way more summons (and Mualani is also limited with her best team being vaporize)

• People didn’t enjoy her playstyle - while I’m finding it fun and engaging, I’ve heard people on certain platforms say it can be buggy or feel clunky or something

• Her lack of plot relevance made her less appealing

I got her C1 a few hrs vefore her banner disappeared, and I have no idea if it's good or not

Ngl the constellation itself doesnt seem that great compared to other recent C1s but I might be wrong so
