I can't comment on the Mare Jivari article. The user Panadol Rapid pointed something about the Image, and I made a speculation of the Mare Jivari beast, what do you guys think ?

Spoilers for the spiritseeking scrolls event!
Buffer image of double Ororon (I am very easy to amuse)
Okay so the most recent part of the event’s story talked a lot about the Mare Jivari…
As well as the location -
Remember the Specially Shaped Saurian event that came out before Natlan and teased a lot of Natlan details? I think that’s what Hoyo is doing here. My guess is the Mare Jivari will be an upcoming region within the next few updates - I think 5.3 is going to be Lantern Rite focused and 5.4 will add the Collective of Plenty, so I could see Mare Jivari either being the second 5.4 location or being added in 5.5. This is just my best guess though!
Another theory I have is that they’ll add a related character when they release the Mare Jivari. A lot of people have theorized that Ifa will be a playable character so maybe him?
Given Citlali’s description it will probably have a lot of environmental hazards (fun) + the “ominous creature the size of a mountain” sounds a lot like a boss, possibly a weekly one
So a battle happened there? interesting.
One of mine was I thought Mare Jivari, in a fully developed high res version, was on the other side of the low poly mountains outside the playable area. I also (for longer than you'd expect) thought Ley Lines were spelled Key Lines. I was very dumb
Mare Jivari, endless sea of ashes
Full of secrets, full of danger
Flames roaring and Wind howling over the ashes, but prosperity anyway. Populations are living here, lands are fertile and life is everywhere the wind can blow. Devastating storms sometimes strike, but they aren’t enough to discourage the people from staying here. The wind is bringing life. The wind is protecting them.
Until one day the wind stops howling, quelled under the wings of the Gustkiller Phoenix.
After the descent of this divine envoy, now reigning over the Mare Jivari, the lands began to die. Slowly. The clouds of ashes aren’t blown away anymore, the fires aren’t puut out anymore, the rain doesn’t fall anymore. The lands begin to dry and crack, the plants die, the populations move away.
They tried to pray to the Phoenix. They tried to appease it, to change it’s mind, but it doesn’t work, and the people are forces to abandon their home.
Until it only remains fire and ash, in the windless void that was so luxurious long ago.
Aeons pass, still under the guard of the Phoenix. None may approach, none may trespass.
Ruthless guardian, the divine bird makes no exception: no life must ever cross the borders of the Mare Jivari, and all who are bold enough to try will suffer the wrath of the burning wind.
Any life that enters will see the sky itself falling on it, rains of fiery shards flying in scorching tornadoes. The wind itself will awaken, blowing the ashes in wraiths of fog. The ground will be scratched by countless claws, flying by themselves like propelled shards, before coming back to their owner, ornamenting its gorgeous wings. Fire will erupt from the ground, in burning geysers. No life will be spared. No life will trespass.
Aeons pass, and one day another life tries to enter, glowing golden in the ashes with a silver shine on it’s side, travelling under the stars.
This life has seen things, made Gods falls, confronted powerful beings: it’s not afraid. But it is unaware. Unaware of what is hiding under the Mare Jivari, unaware of all the secrets of this lands. The Phoenix knows those secrets.
And another power knows them too. A power that the golden life knows well. A Power from beyond, coming from the depths to guide this golden light on the path to righteousness.
“Why are you stopping me?”, ask the golden light, “I must stop this evil machine”
“It is not evil”, replies the power from beyond. “I will explain to you”
Evil is an interesting concept, right? What is being evil? Mean for no reason? destroying things? Killing? Yes, this is being evil.
Now, think about it: can something evil done in the name of a greater good, or a good ideal, be considered good? Will you stop something evil, if it quells and blocks something more evil, that cannot be stopped otherwise ?
If a giant machine is holding down a devastating primordial elemental entity that was feeding on entire lands, and the only way to do it to destroy, kill and scorch those lands, will you stop it? Will you take the part of the Wind Quellr or the part of the Wind itself?
You encountered some of it’s kind, you know how those machines works: they were made for a reason, a mission, and they will accomplish it.
The mission of this Phoenix is clear and is right: it’s guarding something worse. Will you stop it? Will you interfere with its mission, risking to bring its wrath on you?
Or will you help it, fight against its enemy, finally bringing this mission to its end after all this time?
“A feather plucked by the Lavawalker from a bird that sings amid the flames. The wearer can almost hear the sound of the bird's wings flapping in the blaze.
Legend has it that there exists a kind of solidarity bird that sings in the blazing flames.
People worshipped it as a totem while kings saw it as a sign of nobility.
Donning this feather, the Lavawalker retreated from the outside world.Alone he came and alone he went, leaving no trace behind.
Since then, people often hear cries coming from the Mare Jivari. No one knows if they are the song of the bird or the sighs of the Lavawalker”
The Mare Jivari, the endless sea of ashes. A giant plain of nothingness, covered in fog and smoke. The ground is nothing but scorching lava, all over the horizon and beyond sight.
Who dares enter this place will instantly feel the most eerie of its particularities: not a single wind blow. The air is staying in place. No gust or breeze. No winds or Storms. For some, it may not be a problem, but for others that knows more, this may imply the presence of terrible forces in action.
And they are right. Soaring over the sea of fire, a majestic bird reign over this ashen void. Announced by the baleful sounds of wings flapping, the beast storms through the clouds of ashes in a gust of wind.
Wind?
In this place?
Yes, the wind indeed do not blow in the Mare Jivari, for the bird has stolen it. A Gigantic and Majestic bird, installed in the scorched plain since millenniums. No one knows what it is, or where do it come from or what does it want, but all can agree on a point: it stole the wind.
Some says it shares similarities with representations of the Legendary beasts of Liyue called Adepti. Others claims it looks more like the sacred ibis living on the Sumerian Oases. But it is too great, too massive. No bird have this shiny tones on its feathers.
Whatever, all worshipped the creature.
Cults, offerings, sacrifices. All futile attempts to appease the Divine bird.
The wind never came back.
And a windless place is a lifeless place. Soon, populations began to decrease. People left the Mare Jivari. People died. The wind was life. No wind is death. And the Bird have the wind. And it will keep it.
As it kept it all this time.
As its mission was.
A mission it cannot forget, for it has been created for it.
A mission it must accomplish.
A mission none will stop.
Because it’s not a bird, it’s not a god, it’s not a creature.
It’s a Machine. Forged in the depths of facilities that are now abandoned. Forged for a destiny. Forged for war. Forged for a mission.
A mission it is doing well. A mission it will accomplish to the end.
Maybe that, aeons after, someone will end this mission.
Or will help it being accomplished?
After all, who knows what this mission is. Is the Mare Jivari hiding more secrets? What was the wind doing in this place?
Maybe a travelling adventurer will come across the Divine Queller of the winds.
Maybe someone that knows the story of this Bird will explain. Maybe the death of the wind was needed.
After all, who knows. Who knows what secrets are hidden the whisperings of the wind.
Do the Gustkiller Phoenix knows those secrets ?
one. the bennett theory.
So my theory is that Bennett is somewhat of a divine being because of the whole ‘abandoned-baby-in-mare-jivari’ thing. Probably related to khaenriah but this is just my weird theory, don’t take it seriously
two. the murata theory.
We already know that the people of Natlan like fighting and I predict that in Natlan we’re gonna have to fight Murata to progress the archon quest (dammit more archon fights) and her story quest is probably going around teyvat fighting the archons, good luck running from Venti’s giant black hole
So on the travelers sibling page, i found this:
"We will be reunited, dear brother. But not here, not now. We will meet at this journey's end... Once the dust has settled. Then you will understand."
So "dust". like ash. what about that special loading screen text about the "sea of ash" where "all journeys come to an end"? the mare jivari. it does have a page that says its a domain. all the weekly bosses (minus Andrius) have a domain. so i think that its where you fight the sustainer of heavenly principles. or it could be the creator, who is currently just a theory from some guy on yt. though an ongoing debate is that dainsleif is the final boss, though whatever is in this domain, its DEFINETELY the final boss of the game.
