And that also means that dissolving someone in the primordial sea doesn’t kill their musica humana. Which checks out, since all the oceanids share a consciousness. They’re not dead, just in a different chemical state.
^^ Hmm... I don't know, but he did know that it was made from Sybilla's conciousness, so he likely had some idea about that. Not sure if it's stated explicitly though.
^ Correct! They just lose their individuality. Both are sapient beings, but humans are a lot more... Rigid. Oceanids freely merge with each other and split apart, and given Hydro's unique properties and what we know about Ann's creation, they can share memories too, so they're not really individual beings.
So this just proves it. You only have to unite the musica humana of the people. Remus did it in a very precise method—creating Phobos.
Rene, meanwhile, took a cruder approach, utilizing the MUCH more accessible primordial sea.
And this also means we might have an idea of how the Traveler will do it!
The Phobos was flawed because Sybilla had no Ego and let the people's desires overtake her.
Narzissenkreuz was flawed because Rene had too much Ego and simply consumed everyone else's ravenously.
The Traveler will have to strike a delicate middle ground - unite humanity, but keep them individuals, while staying at the "center" to serve as the "conductor" for this Symphony to make sure it goes smoothly and isn't corrupted.
Perhaps this can be achieved if their purification powers evolve enough? At the current stage, they can cast out some amount of Abyssal power, but they'll probably grow in the future, and who knows what that'll bring.
How can the traveler purge abyssal power, anyway??
It's never been explained yet, but I expect it to be addressed soon. I mean, we are facing the Abyss itself.
We first use it to cleanse Dvalin's tears and then it stays unused for four years until Natlan is released. We use it on several people there, but by the time we get there, the damage is too severe for us to cure. Since it's suddenly becoming a thing again (I forgot we even had that power lol) I feel like we might get an explanation. Say, the Traveler is feeling guilty about it not being enough to save anyone and asks Yohual or Ronova, or someone else to help them figure it out.
The traveler is op
