1st, I am a massive fire emblem fan, played multiple games in the series for years, so I would for example implement two features that are common in every fire emblem game. The first being one feature also adore in other games like persona5royal.
Event theater. I would put a event theater so that when you complete a quest you can replay the dialog and scene, you could replay cutscenes, see the birthday art often produced for characters on twitter /hoyolab by mihoyo. Rewatch imagery like the shenhe song and yunjin cutscene, event cut scenes, archon quest cutscenes. Etc. I just feel like that way you can relive the game without restarting. fire emblem three houses does this perfectly imo.
You Can also play songs in the event galley(maybe they could add the musical device in the teapot for example. and actually add every single track Ingame.)
2nd, I would add another layer to the friendship system, because right now it feels unfinished to me
Dgmw. Name cards are great , but it just feels strange that you ONLY get voice lines and a namecard. Nothing else. No special FL10 voiceline.
Which is why I would add a special item and cut scene for every ingame character. The item would change depending on the character, (Some characters that show a platonic view of the traveler or familial would receive the item and a cut scene where their treating the traveler like family or a sibling.)
If you were to use the item on childe for example, it would a cutscene of him swearing you as his all-time rival, and to one-day beat you, or whatever would fit. Some characters that might or might not show a attraction to traveler would receive a cutscene and different reaction to the item.
Im not saying I ship anyone with the traveler. Or have anyone in mind, Because that could be a feature voted on by the fans. But I just feel like if your running a marathon, why stop before the goal?
Obviously not every character has romantic feelings with the traveler. Heck, most probably dont. But. It would still be nice to see a friendship lvl10 voiceline and a cut scene with a character once your reach that point of a bond. Maybe for example ittos cutscenes is where he invites you to join the gang after you give the item, and special art(saved in the galley mentioned before)
This stretches to literally every character. You can expand more on the friendship system without making it romantic or cringe.
But on the otherhand, you can also add romantic choices for characters without forcing it to every character and making it mandatory that the character feels that way. Fire emblem engage actually shows that approach.
you can max out bond with a character and get a special interaction. But not everyone is platonic, and not everyone is romantic. It actually depends on the character and their outlook. Their interactions.
It would also give more relevance and lines to certain characters. Surely theirs a few people that main mika, amber, aloy, razor, kaveh or dehya .that would not mind seeing more interaction or lines from their main.
For example, wanderer is a popular character. Theirs plenty of wanderer simps. Im sure at least 100thousand of them wouldn't mind at all if their was a romantic option for wanderer, and if thats out of character, or maybe a special platonic cutscene where he finds you a person he trusts as a friend, like his friend from tatarasuna.
It just feels like, what's the point of a friendship system if you dont go for that angle where they see you as a dear friend?
Namecards? Backstory?
The backstory can be just unlocked with lvls, like honkai star rail. (Sorry if its a bit of a rant. Just really bugged by that. its like attempting to make a 3 layer chocolate cake, and stopping at two)
Another thing (3rd) I would add is reruns of past events unlocked with keys you get from doing commissions.
I also (4th) would add a in-game help board in mondstadt. Picture this, you Cant solve a puzzle, dont have a phone or computer(or maybe you just cant find the answer on google), and don't have hoyolab. You can't really look up answers to puzzles or guides in that situation, or at least, reasonable to the situation ones. So I would add a in-game help board. Where you take a screenshot or video of your problem, put text explaining your question or problem, and put it on a global help board in-game, where if people see your problem they can look at the clip and help.
And if no one responds, a team at mihoyo specially made for this mechanic that have completed the game and have all the answers to puzzles thus far will then look at the problem and help you (as in, if no one responds for 31 days. )
This would help plenty of newbie players who are stuck during quests or areas. I myself have experienced this with Enkanomiya where when it first released, I could barely understand how to do the puzzles and was confused, same with inazuma. The help with puzzles wouldn't Stop situations like, and while I'm totally for more difficult puzzles, their should be something to help those struggling.
So I would add 4 things. Two/four from typical fire emblem games. 3/4 being QoL.
